The 3-stage HD COLOR-COTE®

Coating Process

The 3-stage HD COLOR-COTE® Coating Process produces one of the finest and most durable modern coatings available, offering outstanding corrosion resistance with excellent colour and gloss retention.

HD COLOR-COTE® is applied to the metal by roller coating; an accurately controlled application with consistent tolerances, far superior to powder coating.

The coating process carried out by Hunter Douglas Limited is designed to meet all appropriate test requirements of AS / NZS 2728-2007 prefinished/prepainted sheet metal products for interior/exterior building applications – performance requirements.

METAL SUBSTRATE

Hot alkaline cleaning of the metal followed by roll-on application of a Chromatic Conversion Coating, which prevents corrosion and improves paint adhesion.

Stage 1: pRetReatMent

A specially formulated polyester primer is applied, designed for flexibility and corrosion resistance.

Stage 2: pRiMeR

A polyester–resin top coat, designed for greater exterior durability and flexibility, is applied and then oven baked.

Stage 3: FiniSH coat
