The commentaries wonder why it is so important for Moshe to see the land, is this some sort of compensation for not being permitted to go into the land? Furthermore, even if Moshe is being afforded this opportunity, why does the Torah deem it necessary to record it, after all doesn't the Torah record every detail? In Kabbala, the seven shepherds of the Jewish people correspond to the seven sefiros through which Hashem manifests his will in the world. Moshe corresponds to the sefira of Netzach/Eternality. Therefore everything associated with Moshe passes the test of time. The nation of Israel was established under Moshe and it therefore endures despite all the odds against it. The Torah was given through Moshe and will therefore endure. This is one of the reasons why Moshe could't lead the people into Israel or build the Beis Hamikdash, because if he had, exile would not have been possible, the Beis Hamikdash would have been indestructible. Hashem obviously had other plans. There is something that Hashem wanted should endure, that element is the longing and yearning for a return to the Holy Land. Hashem wanted that this desire should be part and parcel of the very fiber of every single Jew, a deep longing for Eretz Yisrael. By having Moshe climb the mountain and gaze upon the land and long for it, Hashem insured that this element would endure in the Jewish people for all time. We just observed the fast of 17 Tammuz, marking the beginning of the 3 weeks. Now is the time to remind ourselves and once again internalize that three times a day in the Shemona Esrei we say the words "V'sechezena, eineinu b'shuvcha l'tzion b'rachamim / May our eyes SEE your return to Zion with mercy" May the Zechus of our longing implanted in us by Moshe Rabbeinu, fulfill our prayer to once again see the Shechina in our Holy Land. Shabbat Shalom.

Our Rabbis are not happy with Pinchas. To be a “Kanai”, a zealous person can be

misused. A “Kanai” sometimes has his own agenda. That is why Hashem

himself had to testify as to the sincerity of Pinchas.

Dvar Torah Parshas Pinchas by Rabbi Ari Galandauer In this week's Parsha, Moshe Rabbeinu is instructed to climb up Har Avarim and see the land that Hashem is giving to the Jewish people because shortly thereafter, Moshe will pass away.
