History1965. Simon Fraser University opens its doors. The School of

Business is housed in the Department of Economics and Business within the Faculty of Arts.

1968. SFU launches the Executive Master of Business Administration, the first EMBA program in Canada.

1982. The business discipline at SFU becomes its own distinct faculty, the Faculty of Business Administration, and launches the Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

2005. SFU opens the Segal Graduate School campus in the heart of downtown Vancouver, named for longtime university supporter and chancellor emeritus, Joseph Segal.

2006. The business school is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

2009. The business school is accredited by the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).

2011. In recognition of a record $22 million gift from alumnus Ryan Beedie and his father Keith, the school is named the Beedie School of Business.

2011. The Executive MBA in Aboriginal Business and Leadership, a first for Canada, is launched.

2012. Beedie School of Business begins a social innovation lab and venture incubator, RADIUS.

2016. Through a $10 million gift from alumnus Charles Chang, the business school established the Charles Chang Institute for Entrepreneurship.

AlumniWith over 23,000 alumni in over 70 countries, the school offers lifelong engagement opportunities through annual reunions, educational tune-ups and research events.
