¿Cómo conciliar todos estos pasajes de las Escrituras

para hoy?

Ezequiel llamó a ser "vigilante" para Israel, para señalar los pecados del pueblo de Dios. Mateo trato de resolver

la ira y discordia, "todo lo que ates o desates, será atado o desatado en el cielo". De nuevo en el monte 7: 5,

"prestar atención a la viga en tu propio ojo antes que la

paja en el ojo de otros". Entonces Pablo en Romanos,

"el amor es el cumplimiento de la ley". La mayoría de

los estudiosos de las Escrituras creen que todas estas

situaciones aplican a todo cristiano. Cuando san

Francisco se le preguntó sobre esto, él respondió: "Si esto se supone que debe entenderse en un sentido

universal, entonces entiendo que signifique que un

siervo de Dios debe quemarse con la vida y la santidad

tan intensamente que a la luz del ejemplo y la lengua de

su conducta, reprenda a todo los malvados”. Tu vida

puede dar testimonio de la bondad del Señor y la

santidad de sus mandamientos. Usted no tiene que usar

las palabras para hacerlo. Quizá el salmista encontró la respuesta, así, "si hoy escuchas su voz, no endurezcáis

vuestro corazón". ¿Escuchamos a la tranquila casi en

silencio la voz de Dios, que nos llama a ser

misericordiosos y reconciliarse con los que nos rodean?

How do we reconcile all of these scripture passages

for today?

Ezekiel called to be "watchman" for Israel, to point

out the sins of God’s people. Matthew trying to re-

solve anger and discord, "whatever you bind or loose

will be bound or loosed in heaven". Again in Mt. 7:5,

"pay attention to the beam in your own eye rather than

the speck in another’s eye". Then Paul in Romans,

"love is the fulfillment of the law". Most scripture

scholars believe all of these apply to every Christian.

When St. Francis was asked about this, he replied,

"If this is supposed to be understood in a universal

sense, then I understand it to mean that a servant of

God should be burning with life and holiness so

brightly that by the light of example and the tongue of

his conduct, he will rebuke all the wicked." Your life

can bear witness to the goodness of the Lord and the

holiness of his commandments. You don’t have to use words to do so. Perhaps the psalmist found the

answer as well, "if today you hear his voice, harden

not your heart". Do we listen to that quiet, almost

silent voice of God that calls to us to be merciful

and reconciled to those around us?

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) Adults who are not Catholic and might want to become Catholic. The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults will be starting in September on Thursday evenings at 6:30pm. RCIA is for adults who are baptized in another faith community by Trinitarian Formula, and desire to in-quire about full communion in our Catholic Faith. It is also for adults that have never been baptized and who wish to inquire and discern the journey to Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. Youth Group The High School Youth Group will kick off the 2014/2015

year on Sunday September 7th at 10:15am in the Youth Room in the parish hall. All High School Youth are encouraged to attend and join. This is a little fellowship, faith building and planning activities. Our first meeting

will be on implementation of the St. Francis Youth Council.
