    CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS

Follow the cutting instructions for Dress A as stated

in the Vogue Easy Options V9293 instructions.

  • TIPS When sewing with woven fabrics (not stretch fabric) an iron is your friend. Iron as you stitch, in between steps. Stitching with ironed fabric is easier than stitching creased fabric.

Image 1 We traced off Dress A pattern pieces in the required size, make sure you include the symbols, darts and grainline. Roughly, cut around each traced pattern piece then pin in to your fabric. When cutting the fabric, you neatly cut around each pattern piece, then they are ready for the next time you make this dress.

Image 2 We used an overlocker to neaten the seam edges. When sewing with lightweight fabrics, open seam gives a professional finish.

Image 3 If you use 2 different fabrics like we did, as you prepare to stitch the invisible zip, make sure the waist seams match. If they are not matching then unpick one of the waist seams and re-seam to match. Do not cut away fabric at the neckline to make the waist seams match.

Image 4 The dress hem, is a small ½” hem with the straight stitch finish. Make sure you measure each seam from the waist to the hemline, to ensure they are all the same length. If your dress hemline is uneven, take the measurement of the shortest seam and trim the hem line, making it even all around. Next turn up the hemline 1”, iron the fold line, then fold the raw edge under to the fold line, pin and stitch.
