Principal’s MessageHello Parents and Guardians!
Dear Severn Families,
Happy October and Autumn Season! Students are working on “all cylinders” and enjoying instruction. As I walk through the hallways, I hear comments such as: “Wow, this is fun!” and “I Love School!” Thank you for your continued support, it is greatly appreciated.
Below, please find our October “SES Fun Facts”
• Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held this month. • Please consider joining our wonderful PTA. The PTA will meet
periodically throughout the year on Monday evenings. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our PTA President, Mrs. Bennett.
• Checking-In…please make sure you always visit the front office when coming into the building. It is imperative all parents have an appropriate badge while in the building in order to ensure the safety and security of all students. All parents need to re-scan their ID this year due the installation of a new system over the summer1 Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
This month kicks off our annual Harvest for the Hungry campaign. The goal of this campaign is to collect non-perishable food items to donate to the Anne Arundel County Food Bank. If you can do so, please consider sending in a donation with your student. Stay tuned for additional information.
Please consider signing up for Twitter and following the Severn Elementary School page. We will regularly post pictures of exciting activities that are taking place in school. In addition, we will post resources to support students at home as well as “how-to” resources. If you need any assistance, creating a twitter profile, please email me at [email protected]
Kind Regards,
Mrs. Smith

FEDERAL SURVEYSOn Monday, October 1, 2019, your child brought home a Federal Impact Aid Survey form. Please assist us by filling out the information requested on the form and return it to Severn Elementary School. This enables our school to receive federal funding! Thank you.
Emergency Contact InformationBased on the safety and security
needs of all students, permission is required from a parent or legal
guardian for a child to be picked up by another adult in a non-emergency situation, i.e., Doctors or Dentists
appointments, etc., even though this person may be listed on your
emergency contact form. Please provide notice to the teacher, in
writing, in the event that someone other than a parent or legal guardian will be picking up your child on that
specific date. Thank you for helping us keep your children safe!
