Originally from Plum Coulee, Manitoba, and currently based in Burnaby, B.C., Rosemary has been mesmerizing audiences around the world while performing on Sparkle, a three-hundred-year-old violin that was played in King Louis XIV’s orchestra.

Message from the Chair + CEO

Friends, welcome to Nashville Nights. Tonight we’re gonna have a party!

The Nashville spirit is about southern charm and hospitality, perfectly balanced with good vibes, great music, and neon lights.

For us it’s also a chance to celebrate our community hospital, recognize some amazing contributors, raise funds for a great cause – and yes, maybe even do a little Honky Tonkin.’

This evening’s proceeds will go toward supporting badly needed medical imaging equipment; technology that ensures accurate diagnoses so that you, your family, and your friends can receive the best possible health care, right in our own community.

On behalf of Burnaby Hospital Foundation’s Board of Trustees and staff, we would like to extend our most sincere appreciation to all of our generous sponsors, donors and guests for your support in making this night a success.

Please participate generously in our auctions and fund-a-cause, and of course, y’all have fun now!

Sincerely,

Russ AungerChair, Board of Trustees

Burnaby Firefighters Charitable Society raises funds in support of local community groups and non-profit organizations. Recognizing that protecting the community extends beyond emergency response, the Society is dedicated to helping people in the community each and every day.

Every year, Burnaby Firefighters Charitable Society provides more than 60 generous donations to support individuals affected by health issues, disability, poverty, abuse or hunger. This is a truly incredible feat, especially since the Society has no paid employees and relies solely on volunteers from Burnaby Firefighters Local 323 to carry out its life-changing mission.

Burnaby Hospital Foundation is honoured to have the Burnaby Firefighters Charitable Society as our 6th time presenting sponsor. This big-hearted Society of brave men and women are incredible friends who support us throughout the year like no other, and have been doing so for nearly three decades.

“Xiaofang” by well-known Chinese visual artist, Yao Hua Wang, is full of complex nostalgia from the artist’s youth which encapsulates the emotional sustenance associated with the “Educated Youth” historical movement. The work, which showcases Yao Hua’s courage and skill in the use of color, is inherently capable of healing and inspiration as it vividly fuses the artists own feelings and memories with historical context from that special era. This piece of art uses Japanese mineral pigments as paint, and special rice paper mixed with hemp. More than 30 years later, the mineral pigments have maintained much of the color stability and beauty from when they were originally painted.

Yao Hua Wang is passionate about charity. In 2005, his oil painting “In the Mood for Love” sold for RMB 210,000 ($39,000 CDN) in support of the Shanghai Charity Foundation.

All proceeds above reserve price in support of Burnaby Hospital Foundation.
