Deepanshu Biniwalle was

try to attend a 23 days AS-

SET Summer Workshop for

Classes VII and VIII. He was

lauded for developing a new

perspective regarding 3D vision during the

workshop.

tered Accountant Mr. Pankaj Kothari con-

ducted an interactive

session on Career Op-

tions and Choices for

the students of Classes

X, XI and XII.

Mr. Kothari touched up-

on topics which normal-

ly are a major concern for students during

these very crucial formative years and

urged them to choose their careers accord-

ing to their interests, passion and skills.

A self-defense work-

shop for the girls of

Class IX was organ-

ised in association

with Jwala, an organi-

zation which empow-

ers women to embrace their inner strength

and live their lives with con-

fidence, dignity and honor.

In a very interactive session,

Dr. Divya Gupta gave practi-

cal tips on how girls can pro-

tect themselves against unexpected attacks

and impressed upon them to live fearlessly,

with confidence and dignity.

Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana

(KVPY) is a scholarship pro-

gram funded by the Depart-

ment of Science and Technology of the

Government of India. The programme aims

to attract exceptionally talented and highly

motivated students for pursuing basic sci-

ence courses and research career in sci-

ence.

Nakul Goel of Class XI was selected to par-

ticipate in the MIT Launch Programme con-

ducted by the Massachusetts Institute of

Technology, Boston, USA. He was among

70 participants from 23 countries who

were at MIT to hone their entrepreneurial

skills and interact and network with stu-

dents from across the world.

All sections of Class VI enthusiastically par-

ticipated in the Inter Class English Poetry Recitation Competition. Shishyans infused

life into the poems with their actions and voice modulation.

Students of Class XI, with the help of their teachers, put up the first ever English Liter-

ary Fest. The fest was a part of the British Council Project. Stalls representing the

USA, Russia, Italy, the UK, India and Paki-stan displayed books and information

about the pre-eminent writ-

ers and their best works.

Conclave of International Diplomats

12 Shishyans participated in the Youth

Parliament held at The Daly College. They interacted with delegates from schools

across the country and gained a deeper in-

sight into world issues through discussions and debate.

Om Agrawal (ADHOC) received high com-mendation, Garvit Zalani (Futuristic NSC),

Abhimanyu Sethia (US Senate) and Parv Golwelkar (House of Commons) received

verbal mention and Oorja Rungta received special mention.

Shishyans Khyati Vyas, Shruti Biyani, Tan-isha Shah, Reetika Gupta, Chhavi Gupta,

Ananya Jham, Samyak Shrimal and Vidhi Dev, participated in the Conclave of Inter-

national Diplomats, Hyderabad organised by Telengana Tourism.

A workshop for the Executive Board of the

Shishukunj MUN 2016 was conducted by the MUN World trainer Mr.

Anansh Prasad. The work-shop focussed on MUN proce-

dures and varied agendas and crisis simulations. The work-

shop gave the members of the Executive Board a deep insight on the vari-

ous procedures and practices to be followed for the Shishukunj MUN 2016.

The House Meet was an opportunity for stu-

dents to meet their new House-mistresses

and also to

know about the

various inter-

house events

planned during

the session. The

meet also served

as an induction

for Class VI students into the House system.

The Inter-House Hindi Nukkad Natak compe-

tition, based on themes like Technology in

Today’s Life, Yoga and Health, Cleanliness

and Superstitions, saw the actors from the

four Houses acting out their very best while

giving the audience a social message .

The Inter-House English Poetry Recitation

Competition, based on the theme ‘Nature’,

was an opportunity for students who had not

participated in any inter house event during

the previous academic session.

INTERNATIONALISM

Arnav Abhyankar of Class X went on a two

month Reciprocal Exchange Programme to

Germany. Arnav was

hosted by a German

student, Mast. Felix

Amar Honeckar from

Stuttgart. Felix and

his family played the

perfect hosts from

providing Indian food, to taking him sight

seeing to Paris and Brussels and even

teaching him German.

His German host, Felix will be hosted by

the school from July – September 2016.

The 3rd batch of

American stu-

dents are with

us to learn Hin-

di. These stu-

dents have come

to India under the NSLI – Y programme

( National Security Language Initiative for

Youth ) and will be with us for 6 weeks.

Special Hindi classes have been arranged

for them along with day trips to places near

Indore. To be able to truly immerse them-

selves in Indian culture, they are being

hosted by Shishyans in their homes.

Akshat Vora, Omisha Purohit, and Tanya

Rajani are in Malaga, Spain for an Intercul-

tural Summer Camp. This camp involves

staying and interacting with students from

across the world and participating in a vari-

ety of cultural and sporting activities.

Aarushi Tulsiyan, Aditya Dora, Aditya Ti-

wari, Aryan Dora, Divik Silawat, Lakshya

Parikh and Yagyesh Sikarwar embarked on

an intercultural programme which involved

sightseeing as well as a home stay in Hun-

gary.

A 12 day sightseeing

trip with students

from all over the world

was an opportunity to

see the art and culture

of Budapest. The home

stay which followed

gave them a firsthand

experience of Hungarian culture and family

life.

in Bangalore. Advait

won a total of 4 med-

als in the Under-17

category. His medals include 1 Gold medal,

1 Silver medal and 2 Bronze medals. With

these 4 medals, Advait helped Madhya Pra-

desh come up with its Best Ever Perfor-

mance historically, to reach the 3rd Posi-

tion in overall medal tally, be-

hind Karnataka and Maha-

rashtra.

year's Junior National in

Group 2 (Under 14).
