The Jefferson Forge opened in Septem-
ber, 2019 after a complete renovation of
the property at 204 E. State.

2020 Priorities
1. Create upper story housing visibility
2. Recruit traffic-generating businesses to downtown
3. Apply for Iowa Great Place & Great American Main Street designations
4. Involve youth & school in Main Street program
5. Attract people to the Main Street District.

Design Goal: To encourage improvement of the Main Street district’s physical ap-pearance.
Public Improvements—seasonal banners, pillar & cluster planters, empty window displays
Promote Jefferson’s Historic Design Guide-lines—Mini-grants for façade & signage
Encourage free Design Assistance through Main Street Iowa
Talents used for beautification efforts.
Support City-acquired bldgs. with volunteer work force & Rehab Phase 2 projects
Promotion Goal: To market the Main Street district by estab-lishing a unified image and encouraging an exciting variety of activities for the community.
Promotion of businesses through Jefferson, IA app, social media posts & website
Image Campaigns—Jeff from Jefferson videos for businesses & events

Organization Goal: To establish a strong Main Street organization which utilizes a growing number of participants in the implementation and funding of the program.
