REQUIREMENTS OF THE BRIEF

• We have been set a loose brief of making a short film adaptation using the theme of fairy tales, fables and myths. We will be keeping the narrative structure and moral of the story.

INITIAL IDEAS

Initial Idea:

• The initial idea the group discussed for the brief was to merge fairy tales of ‘Cinderella’, ‘Humpty dumpty’ and the ‘Ugly duckling’. However this idea seemed to complicated and complex as the narrative structure and the message would not be clear due to the use of multiple characters.

Initial Idea 2:

• So then decided to do a simple narrative and use one fable sticking to one main protagonist. Which brought our second initial idea, the story of ‘Goldilocks and the three bears’. The reason why we did not develop this idea is because we felt that we could not expand the story anymore.

Initial Ideas 3:

• Our final idea that we chose was ‘The Boy that cried wolf’ which was a tale that had not only a simplistic narrative which we could expand on and develop.
