Servotech was established bymyself in 2000.
Having worked for othercompanies within the industrialelectronics service sector, Idecided to set up my owncompany, with the aim ofproviding levels of service andquality that are pioneering andleading edge.
We are based in North Staffordshire, which is ideally positioned to support our UKand international customers.
Our unique skills within our niche market sectors allow us to offer levels of servicewhich are amongst the highest within our industry.
Servotech lead the market place with our ability to manage obsolescencethroughout our industry sectors.
We shall continue with pioneering techniques and continue to hone our serviceswith training and knowledge.

our services
We offer repairs 24 hours / seven days a week, with a 12 month whole unit warranty, backed upwith a comprehensive in-house test facility.
This is supported by a dedicated R&D team who can develop in-house test facilities and helpwith obsolescence management.
In-house repairs.
With a multi-disciplined team of engineers, wecarry out repairs within our facilities at Cheadlein Staffordshire.
We have a dedicated test facility, which waspurpose-built and includes a thermal chamberto simulate high temperatures that mostelectronics run at.
Collection anddelivery.
Servotech has its own fleet ofvehicles to collect and deliver toall parts of the UK and Eire. Thisis supported by a range of otherservices including carriers andcouriers for a dedicated ‘out ofhours’ service.
On site repairs.
Equipment that cannot easily beremoved can be repaired in situation.
This is ideal if you need to ensureproduction continuity, or the item is toolarge to transport easily.

Quality Systems
With a very experienced and passionate workforce thatcontinues to pursue excellence in all our business areas,we have the skills to repair all forms of industrial electronicsand electro-mechanical equipment.
We have a dedicated Nationwide Field Sales Teamcovering the whole of the UK and Eire.
Whether you need a site engineer to repair a drive systemon a tram, an in-house repair on an AC drive for anautomated food factory, or an engine management unit offa landfill gas engine, we have the people and theequipment to sort the problem out.
Our dedicated ‘out of hours’ site service is available 24hours a day, seven days a week to provide a seamlessresponse.
Our quality systems are continually being updated and our ‘heavy rail’ customer baseincludes ‘customer specific’ safety critical approvals allowing Servotech to work on allequipment.
Our recent ‘Contractors Health and Safety’ accreditation has allowed Servotech tofurther develop our relationships with various utility companies.

O.E.M. Digital engine management unit contains components thatare now obsolete. The cost for a new system was £15,000.Servotech ‘reverse engineered’ the unit and replaced thecomponents with modern electronics. This not only allowed thecustomer to save many thousands of pounds, it also enabled thelatest technology which allows the gas engine to run efficiently.
①
A customer had a fire within the gas engine container. Thisresulted in part of the wiring harness loom to be destroyed. TheO.E.M. held the harness for three days and quoted two weeksdelivery. Servotech collected the harness from the O.E.M. andproduced a new harness within three days.
②
A bank of six gas engines had been out of action for five days dueto a power supply failure. The power supply was collected fromsite, repaired and returned within 24 hours. All six engines werereturned to action.

Due to a misunderstanding, the air conditioning systems in thedriver’s cabs were never installed at a tram company. Servotechwere asked to design a control P.C.B., prove the system andcommission. With the assistance of an aircon specialist,Servotech produced a P.C.B., connected all equipment andenabled the system to be fully functional.
①
Many of the trams at a tram company were failing due to ‘overtemperatures’ in the drive control systems. This was due to a lackof ventilation in the cases of the drive control systems. Obviously, cutting external holes in the cases was not acceptable, due to thisallowing moisture ingress. It was decided to install cooling fansinternally to ‘stir’ the air away from hot components, allowing theair to cool sufficiently to prevent ‘over temperature’ in the drive.
②
A tram company had to convert the radio systems to digital fromtheir existing analog format. Servotech were asked to provide theinterface between the two systems. This project was extremelycomplex, having to liaise between a digital supplier and the tramcompany. With support from all parties, the project was completedwithin budget, and on time.

Servotech were asked to support a water utility in theirmaintenance and commissioning of uninterrupted power supplies(U.P.S.) within their catchment area. Servotech have surveyed anumber of sites, and have arranged for follow-up visits to eitherrepair or replace broken units.
①
Obsolescence was causing a power utility many problems due toequipment being deemed unrepairable by the O.E.M. To replacethe battery back-up systems was going to cost millions of pounds.Servotech were asked to evaluate the obsolete boards andestablish if the equipment could be supported. In general, when aP.C.B. is deemed obsolete by the O.E.M. there is a period of timebefore the individual components become obsolete.
Consequently, Servotech can continue to support the equipmentby sourcing components individually and repairing the P.C.B.s.

Several ‘over temperature’ faults were detected by an engineer inthe north of England. It was obvious that a method of cooling wasrequired. Due to the abundance of compressed air available, itwas deemed suitable to use ‘vortex’ tubes to carry out the coolingon two specific large A.C. drives. The installation of the coolingsystem was carried out on a Sunday to prevent any productionissues.
The end result was a cabinet that did not fail due to ‘overtemperatures’.
①
A food processing customer was losing A.C. drives on a regularbasis.
Servotech identified the common failure mode and rebuilt thecircuitry to include voltage protection. This ensured that the drivesdid not fail.
