The Atomlab 960 Thyroid Uptake System is an advancedmulti-purpose spectrum analysis instrument designed fordiverse nuclear medicine applications. Uptake studies, wipetests, and other user-defined tasks are accomplished withspeed and precision using this fully integrated computer-controlled instrument and its comprehensive selection ofapplication software.

The system’s multichannel analyzer has 1024 channels, withindividual MCAs for the probe and optional well counter.Engineered for mobility, durability and operationalefficiency, the Atomlab 960 handles clinical tests, safety

compliance tasks, and system administration proceduresquickly and accurately. The system automatically performscalculations, stores patient information and test results, andoutputs clear, concise reports. User-defined uptake protocolscan be initiated.

The self-contained Atomlab 960 system is configured on acompact mobile platform with locking casters and a base thatmeasures only 26" w by 34" l (66 x 86.4 cm). An upper shelfsupports the flat panel PC with touch-screen display andkeyboard.

The Atomlab 500 can be used for a wide variety of nuclear medicine, PET andradioimmunotherapy applications, with proven performance for fast, accuratemeasurements. The system consists of a low pressure ionization chamber, electrometerwith extraordinary linearity and an auto-ranging, color touch-screen display.

Activity is displayed on the touch screen in either Curie or Becquerel units.Background correction is performed at the touch of a button. Range selection isautomatic, from .01 microcurie to 100 Curies of Tc-99m or 25 Curies of F-18.

The unit is upgradable at any time to include a wipe test counter.

Linearity tests can be performedusing the traditional manualmethod or with the fully automatedprogram featuring the capability tocapture readings from a source,while automatically recording atspecific intervals. The system willgraph the results. The attenuationtube test for linearity can performedusing software that will guide theuser through the procedure, storesthe values and makes allcalculations.

An Expanded Constancy test allowsthe user to measure a long-livedsource and up to 14 routinely usedisotope settings, all in a matter ofseconds with just one touch of thescreen. DICOM allows the uptake reportsto be transferred, stored and queried/retrieved throughout afacility. Physicians can view both thyroid scans and uptakereports simultaneously.

The Atomlab 960 has been tested and approved as a DICOM modality to interface with VistA imaging.

DICOM integrates with VistA allowing the thyroid uptake reports to be transferred, stored and queried/retrieved in theVA's electronic health record system as well as exchange medical imagery with the Department of Defense.
