About SSAE 16 Type II Certification

Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16, Reporting on Controls at a Service Organization, was finalized by the Auditing Standards Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) in January 2010.

SSAE 16 effectively replaces SAS 70 as the authoritative guidance for reporting on service organizations. It became effective as of June 15, 2011. The changes in SSAE 16 were to make US standards compatible with new international service organization reporting standards, the ISAE 3402.

About TIA-942 Certification

The Telecommunications Industry Association’s Telecommunications Infrastructure Standard for Data Centers (TIA-942) is an American National Standard that specifies the minimum requirements for telecommunications infrastructure of data centers and computer rooms.

TIA-942 was created in April of 2005. It covers several key areas of standards for data center infrastructure, including: site space and layout, cabling infrastructure, tiered reliability, and environmental considerations.
