convergence 통신망의 종단 접속망으로 활용되어질 전망 PC, Notebook, PDA, Phone, PMP 등 다양한 단말기에 기본장착 될전망이며 , 이는 단말사의 고객 다원화 혹은 통신화를 통한 이용자 증대 목적에 부합 . 통신사의 입장에서는 무선 LAN 은 단순한 기술로 사용하는 것이 바람직하며 ,
이를 위해서는 인증 , 과금 , 보안 등의 intelligence 기능은 통신망과 단말기에 위치하는것이 바람직
