Sermon Notes & Reflections Worship Focus “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” (George Santayana, 1905). The cycle of Israel during the time of the Judges is a wakeup call for us today. At the core of Israel’s trouble is that they had rejected God – His love, His authority in their lives, His Word. We ask God to teach us from the past so that we (hopefully) avoid their mistakes and remember His patient love. Prayer (from 1 Timothy 1:17) Father, Son, Holy Spirit, You are the only King, the immortal, invisible, only God. To You be honor and glory forever and ever! Amen. Scripture Judges 13:1-16:31; Zephaniah 3:14-17; Matthew 15:1-20; Ephesians 4:17-24 God’s Word to Remember In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as he saw fit. Judges 17:6 The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and His name the only name. Zechariah 14:9

With 540 children participating in VBS, volunteers are essential for our Cave Quest mission: 86 crew leaders are needed to help lead the children out of the dark and into God’s light! Your job for the week will be to guide a group of 6-8 kids to their various stations, keep them safe, help them to have fun as well as stay on task. Whether you are going into 8th grade or are in your 80th year, we need you for our quest. Students going into 6th or 7th grade are welcome to sign up to assist as Junior Crew Leaders. BLC Library’s Summer Reading Program The library is offering Beginning Readers through 4th grade an opportunity to read Christian books, turn in book reports and earn Toys R Us gift cards.
