Located about 400 km from the Arctic Circle, Yellowknife is the capital of Canada’s Northwest Territories, and the gateway to the Great Wild North. It’s a big boomtown with eyeball-freezing temperatures that has more than its share of fortune hunters, adventurers and outlaws. It’s a place where you can make or lose a fortune faster than you can outrun a hungry bear.

Yellowknife is home to some mighty rugged and strong-willed individuals. Like Mel Ivarson, who runs Arctic Air with his daughter Krista. They’re both crack pilots who can handle just about any problem they encounter in the air or on the ground – except keeping the company profitable. That’s why they’ve got no choice but to accept the help of Bobby Martin, the son of Arctic Air’s co-founder, who left Yellowknife to strike it rich in Vancouver.

Together with the Arctic Air team, Bobby, Mel and Krista scramble to restructure the company’s financing, land lucrative new contracts and overcome challenges both natural and man-made: deadly storms, mechanical breakdowns, hijackings, medical emergencies, drug smuggling operations and plane crashes. Plus, they’ve got to restructure their own lives, meaning that Bobby’s got to face some unfinished business from his past, Mel has to confront issues of mortality, and Krista has to decide between two men.

Season II of “Borgia” promises the same opulent mix of history and entertainment that already thrilled audiences in the first season. While Rodrigo Borgia – Pope Alexander VI – is determined to reform the Catholic Church and himself, Cesare ceases to be the petulant, impetuous boy and evolves into a fierce and ruthless warrior. Before the start of World War one, the German colony of Tsingtao on the Chinese mainland is enjoying its last days of peace. In March, 1943, Lvov, Poland is a beautiful city held in the iron grip of the Nazi occupation. The weak prey upon the weaker; the poor steal from the less poor. Near the bottom of this chain is Leopold Soha, a petty thief. His knowledge of the sewers‘ intricate maze of tunnels and chambers, in which he hides his loot, has earned him a menial job as a sewer worker. But there is a group of people in Lvov worse off than Soha – the Jews. Crowded into a ghetto, they are being worked and starved to death. Realizing that the ghetto is about to be destroyed, a motley group meet in secret to plot an escape into the sewers.

Under constant surveillance, they manage to tunnel down. As soon as they enter this dark netherworld, they are discovered by Soha. The Jews offer him money to hide them. The consequences of aiding Jews are public hanging of the helper and his entire family. But Soha desperately needs this money. In spite of grave misgivings on both sides, they strike a deal. As the Nazis start to liquidate the Lvov ghetto, Soha seizes the opportunity to profit by keeping them hidden and protected from the devastation above.

As the pressure to betray the Jews builds, Soha finds himself increasingly in danger, and abandons them to protect himself. But fate and his newly awakened conscience drive him back, and he commits himself to protecting his new “family” at all costs.

It‘s 1980 and enlightenment comes to the back and beyond of Bavaria! Bhagwan disciple Amrita moves with her two children, 12-year-old Lili and nine-year-old Fabian, together with her equally esoteric roommates, from Berlin to the Bavarian backwoods. Primal scream therapy and wholemeal meet shooting club and more earthly horizons. While Amrita sings Indian mantras, sitting half naked on the Stone of enlightenment, her arch-conservative neighbour and the village mayor, for whom the ‘weirdoes‘ are, of course, also linked to left-wing terrorists the RAF, peers through the hedge, stunned.

But when the yogis also set up a therapy center in the village, peaceful life goes out the window. The villagers‘ mistrust of the newcomers spirals out of control. The birth of international terrorism

The organizers of the 1972 Munich Summer olympics have a dream: to show the world a new, tolerant Germany. The dream is shattered on the morning of September 5th, when Palestinian terrorists storm the Israeli quarters and take 11 Israelis hostage – a savage attack that is seen by many today as the zero hour of international terrorism.

on that morning, a young couple – policewoman Anna and helicopter pilot Michael – are thrust into a situation that nobody was ready for. The inexperienced Anna suddenly finds herself negotiating with the head terrorist on behalf of the authorities; Michael is preparing to fly the terrorists and hostages to a plane at a nearby military airport. Alternating between scenes of silent fear and despair among the Israeli hostages and emotionally charged exchanges among the overwhelmed police, “Munich 72” is a real-life thriller based on actual events. The film is directed by Israeli-born Dror Zahavi, who brought actors from Palestine and Israel to Munich especially for this film. To save a child, a young docotr risks everything.

Little Kathi doesn’t have a chance. By the time her parents find their four-year-old, she has been floating in an icy pond for nearly a half hour. No pulse. No respiration. Nothing. It’s been a couple of years since emily’s husband passed away. Difficult years for the vivacious, much-loved teacher and mother of a 21-year-old daughter. A celebrity chef finds the dish of his life...

Gourmet chef Felix’s inner clock ticks faster and louder than most people’s: always on his cell phone, he scurries from his haute-cuisine restaurant to his mass-cuisine TV food show, and zooms from celebrity photo ops to negotitations with Japanese investors. one day, while zipping down a country road, he causes an accident that leaves a young woman, Frieda, with a broken ankle.

A marriage that nearly gets lost in translation...

“We want to experience Bangkok from close up,” chirps Sabine Kremer at the outset of her family’s one-year stay in the Thai capital. She soon starts to regret these words when she, her husband Christof and daughter emma arrive at the house they’re renting: an overflowing toilet, a chicken death-row in the kitchen and “minor” repairs consisting of the removal of the entire kitchen floor are only some of the “up-close” experiences they make. The others are of a more interpersonal nature and include the ravishing Thai beauty eleanor, who leaves no doubts as to her intent of seducing business consultant Christof, marrying him and leaving the country. To eleanor, Sabine is only collateral damage. But Sabine also finds herself beleaguered by an ardent admirer, namely by Christof’s boss, who takes advantage of Christof’s business trip to try to seduce Sabine. Unfortunately, the sight of a naked Ceo on her bed with a strategically placed fan provokes more laughs than lust. When a corrupt employee trying to sabotage Christof’s work sends Sabine a video showing Christof and eleanor obviously enjoying each other’s company while on their business trip, Sabine is furious and decides to leave him then and there. The senseless tragedy of teenage violence

It’s Susanna’s 16th birthday and the bright and cheery teen begins her new year on a positive note, with great gifts from her loving parents Nora and Hendrik, and the promise of a party for her friends that evening. To finance “Hotel Desire,” director/scriptwriter Sergej Moya launched a public Internet donation campaign and triggered the crowd-funding phenomenon of the year: in the first days after its release, it was downloaded more often than the latest “Harry Potter” film and “Hangover 2,” and made it to the very top of the Videoload sales charts. The 23-year-old Moya raised 170,000 euros from online investors to produce this film, which is “about sex, but with class” (tageszeitung).

A new life in the shadow of death...

Austria, 1954. Having lost her husband in the war and her father to illness, the aristocrat erna has nothing left but her energy and dynamism. These she now puts to good use in her new life as a schoolmistress in the tiny Alpine village of Blons, a picturesque town exposed to massive – and sometimes deadly – avalanches every winter. The cultivated young woman is looked down on by the rough-hewn Alpine farmers, but shows her willingness to adapt by voluntarily doing barnyard chores. Though she is courted by the wealthy landowner Baron von Kessel, it is her headstrong fellow teacher eugenio that she falls in love with – a feeling that he ardently reciprocates. The young man is an expert on avalanches, and has long been feuding with Kessel, from whose slopes avalanches repeatedly thunder into the valley, destroying houses and killing people. The baron claims that the reforestation of the slopes is sufficient. erna uses all her powers of seduction to get the baron to sell the property. But before anything can be done, calamity strikes, and on 11 January 1954 two major avalanches come crashing down from the mountains, decimating two thirds of the village and leaving many dead and injured. erna finds eugenio, but help arrives too late. Just before eugenio dies, erna is able to tell him that she is expecting his child...
