THOMSON POWER SYSTEMS S2200/S2400 ARC RESISTANT MEDIUM VOLTAGE SWITCHGEAR OFFERS THE FOLLOWING OUTSTANDING FEATURES:

• Air Insulated Metal-Clad Switchgear with Arc Resistant design compliant with IEEE C37.20.7 standards

• Arc Resistant construction to one of the highest standards available Type 2B (arc-resistant construction at the front, back, and sides with LV instrument compartment door open, safe for maintance personnel

• Enhanced safety for personnel and equipmento Flap/vent system to relieve pressureo Gas collection chambero Gases are safely expelled out the roof through the plenum

• Modular design (Bolted construction enables faster replacement and modification in the field, allows for specialized configurations and maintains the smallest, compact product)

GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe Series 2200/2400 Arc Resistant Switchgear contains draw-out power circuit breakers, draw-out PT compartments, control/protection device compartments and fully insulated bus bar. The Series 2200/2400 Arc Resistant Switchgear is suited to many types of power generation systems requiring a high degree of operator safety for operation and maintenance. The switchgear is available in three voltage classes; 5kv, 8.2kv, 15kV and three main breaker current ratings of 1200A, 2000A and 3000A capacity. The unique design of Arc resistant switchgear re-directs Arc Flash blast gases during a short circuit event via switch-gear roof mounted plenum, safely away from operations personnel. Series 2200/2400 Arc Resistant Switchgear can incorporate paralleling switchgear controls for multiple genset applications for emergency standby, distributed generation or prime power applications.

SWITCHGEAR CONSTRUCTIONConstruction of the Arc Flash switchgear is extremely robust to safely withstand an arc flash event without damage. The modu-larized, metal-clad construction provides for completely isolated/barriered control & metering compartments from the load bus compartments which allows the design to be fully compliant with IEEE C37.20.7 type 2B construction requirements. The follow-ing unique switchgear construction designs offer many benefits which are supplied as standard:

• Enclosure: double thickness steel, ASA #61 Grey Power Coat epoxy paint, fully gasketed doors, galvanic steel construction interior provides superior reflectivity inside compartments and is resistant to rust, corrosion and scratches.

• Power Circuit Breakers: 3 pole draw-out, electrically operated stored-energy operating mechanism, and vacuum interrupt-er assembly embedded with epoxy resin.

• Circuit Breaker Compartment: Double thickness, gasketed breaker doors secured with heavy duty hinges and bolts, lexan arc-resistant window allows the operator to check position and status of circuit breaker without opening the cell door, Dual safety shutter actuators with grounding, Interlock prevents manual operation , Position indication: connected, test, discon-nected.

• Load Bus/Cabling Compartments: silver plated copper, epoxy coated bus insulation system, molded vinyl boots with re-useable hardware, and porcelain or glass polyester standoff insulators.

• Potential Transformer (PT) Compartments: closed door racking in and out adds element of safety fully draw-out, drawout construction with extension rails makes the compartment easily accessible and uses using Delrin snuffer contact technology.

• Instrument/Control Compartments: completely isolated from medium voltage compartments, Galvanic interiors provide su-perior reflectivity inside compartments, Truck operated cell switches located in the low voltage compartment for easy access and to minimize exposure, gasketed door

• Arc Blast Plenum: Channels gases out of switchgear, provides room for flap operation, allows gases to expand, protects cable trays, allows lower building height
