Who We Are and What We Do:
SER has been providing services for the local community and state
since 1974.
Currently SER Corporation is the national grantee/administer of WIA
Title 1-Section 167 National Farmworker Jobs Program for the state
of Kansas.

Program History
The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998
was designed to be customer-focused
allowing participants to choose among many
career/training options that best meet their
needs while also helping companies hire the
skilled workers they need to remain
successful.
Who is eligible for NFJP services?
1. U.S. citizens or permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, parolee, or other individual legally authorized to work in the U.S.
And;
2. Must be registered with the Selective Service;
3. Must be a disadvantaged seasonal or migrant farmworker for any 12
consecutive months out of 24 months prior to application;
Or
4. Be the spouse of the eligible farmworker and meet requirements 1 and 2 above;
Or
5. Be the dependent of the eligible farmworker and meet requirements 1 and 2 above.
Who are eligible seasonal and
migrant farmworkers?
• Migrant farmworkers, and their dependents, are those
whose agricultural labor requires travel to a job site such
that the farmworker is unable to return to their
permanent place of residence within the same day.
• Seasonal farmworkers, and their dependents, are those
whose agricultural labor is performed locally so that they
can return to their residence each day, but have gaps in
their farm labor employment.
Migrant and seasonal farmworker must have earned
$800. or worked 25 days in agriculture in 12
consecutive months out of the last 24 months and at
least 50% of total earned income is from farm work or
were employed 50% of the time in agricultural work.
Family income for any 12 months out of the 24 months
prior to application does not exceed the poverty level
guidelines or 70% lower living standard income level.

Core Services – job search, resume building ,
interviewing techniques, career counseling;
Intensive Services-individual employment plans, case
management;
Training Services- vocational or technical education,
On-the-Job Training, and work experience;
Related Services –transportation, housing assistance,
nutrition, ESL, GED
