TRANSCRIPT
Greetings to our Masonic families. I hope this article finds you
all well and happy. This past month has been a great one for me
and our Lodge. There are significant activities developing that
will have major impact on Sequim Masonic Lodge #213.
During this past month I was able to take a two-week vacation
to visit my family in Arizona. I was reluctant to take this time
away from Lodge duties but felt strongly that we had the right
officers to proceed without me. Not only did they proceed, but
when I came back I had to get out of their way!! I am over-
whelmed and impressed with the progress that has happened over
this last month. First, I had asked the other four elected officers if they would work on the
“6 Step Program” with the hope that we could maybe start processing a new candidate in
June. I cannot express how excited I was, when on my return I discovered that WB Don
Williams, WB Charlie Brilhante, Bro Pepper Fisher and Brother Bryan Gorr had not only
started working on this important program, they had developed a program and were already
enthusiastically implementing it with two candidates. What a great job!!!
The second surprise I had was the progress Bro’s Pepper Fisher and Bob Hitchcock were
making in setting up a DeMolay Chapter in our Lodge. These exemplary Masons had ex-
pressed the desire to see what we needed to have a chapter in Sequim. Success in develop-
ing a successful DeMolay Chapter will go a long way in contributing to the good of our
community and future Lodge membership. It is a noble task to work assisting young boys
to become better men. On my return I found out that Bro’s Pepper and Bob were already
working with WB Bob Wheeler and were moving forward in making this hope become a
reality. Once the word got out on their effort, Brother Bob Craig approached me and vol-
unteered to help in any way he can. I am always amazed and thankful to see the quality of
Masons we have in this Lodge.
The third subject I want to touch on was the outstanding stated meeting we had this
month. The officers had asked our Sr. Grand Deacon to assist us in explaining the resolu-
tions we were to vote on at the Grand Communication. We wanted to make sure we repre-
sented the Lodge as they wanted us to. VWB Maxfield did an excellent job of explaining
the resolutions and answering all questions. The results were, we had healthy discussions
on the issues to be voted on, and were able to come to a majority agreement on how the
officers need to vote to best represent the Lodge. It was uplifting to witness how, as a
Lodge, we were able to come together on important issues, even when it required that
sometimes we had to agree to disagree.
Last, but not least, I would like to give wages to two brothers who quietly demonstrate,
through their actions, the Tenets of Masonry. We had an old picture frame, in the Lodge
that was brokeen and I felt the loss could not be replaced. When I mentioned this to Wor-
shipful Brother Ed Entrican, he stated he thought he could help. The next thing I knew we
had our frame and pictures hanging back in the Lodge as good as new. Thank you WB Ed.
The other Brother who deserves wages is VWB Lance Otis. VWB Otis drilled down on
our Phone Tree problems and made this system work, as well as it is capable of working.
This will really help the Lodge in our efforts to communicate with the members.
We are blessed, in this Lodge, to have so many outstanding Masons contributing to the
good of Masonry.
Thank you all!!!!

You never know when someone may ask you about Masonry.
From The South By Bro Bryan Gorr, JR Warden
Greetings from the West. I truly hope that everyone is well
and that you’re having a chance to enjoy this warm weather. I
would like to ask that if anyone has any ideas that would be fun
for a Masonic activity this summer to please speak up. I’m
looking at putting something together and would like to organ-
ize it for maximum participation.
For our upcoming stated meeting on the 14th we will be hav-
ing: Grilled Garlic Basil Pork Tenderloin, Roasted Red Pota-
toes, Fresh Vegetables, Baked Rolls and Strawberry Cobbler
for dessert. I look forward to seeing you there.
From The West By Pepper Fisher , Sr. Warden
Last night (May 18th) I had the great pleasure of partici-
pating in an Initiation rehearsal with the Sequim Rainbow
Girls. I've attended their meetings before, but this was my
first time seeing how a Rainbow candidate is initiated, and
it was quite an eye-opener. Any Mason will instantly recog-
nize the forms and rituals of their own craft at one of these
events, and I felt so proud of our girls as I watched, lis-
tened, and even took part in their century-old tradition of
bringing a new sister into the fold. It was very moving, and
I look forward to seeing the real thing sometime soon. It was also a good reminder
that we, as Masons, do not make this Masonic journey alone. We have formed a
myriad of concordant bodies designed to include our wives and our children. And
because these organizations share a lot of similarities, in form and ritual, with our
own methods in Blue Lodge, our loved ones are able to experience the benefits of
the Masonic principles that mean so much to us throughout our lives.
This brings me to my next point. There has been a lot of interest expressed in our
lodge to revive a DeMolay chapter in Sequim. I have never had any experience or
exposure to DeMolay, and I certainly don't see myself as the most qualified to take
the helm when the time comes, but I've decided to not let that stop me from doing
my best to facilitate it's formation. Our newly affiliated brother Robert Hitchcock
has had a lifetime of experience with DeMolay, and he has agreed to assist me in
getting things going. I have also enlisted the help of WB Bob Wheeler of Port Ange-
les Lodge, and his initial advisement informs me that one of our first steps is to form
a five-man Advisory Council that will steer the way through the process. If you are a
former member of DeMolay, or even if you just have a lot of enthusiasm for being a
part of this exciting project, please feel free to contact me in person or via email at
In the meantime, take a look at our Demolay Charter, which is hanging on the wall
in the northeast corner of the Blue Lodge. You might find some inspiration there
and, like me, it'll remind you that much of the heavy lifting for this project was done
by other Masons long before today, and to them we owe our gratitude.

159th Annual Grand Lodge Communication: Most are aware that
this event will be held in Wenatchee, June 9th thru 11. Our May 10th
Stated determined the Lodge balloting preference for the proposed
Resolutions.
Many have questioned how to nominate someone for Grand Lodge
office from “the floor.” With electronic balloting there are no provi-
sions for “write-ins” so, how do we get someone elected other than the
pre-programmed candidates within the electronic polling device?
SGD VWB Darel Maxfield and Special Deputy of the Grand Master
VWB Tom Dangelo have advised that at the District Meeting in Ken-
newick, JGW RWB Jim Kendall stated that “the only way for someone to be on the ballot is if
there is a significant number of votes cast using the other button (on the electronic polling de-
vice), then the Grand Master may ask who those persons or person might be. If there were an-
other name(s) it would only take about five minutes to get the person’s name on the computer
so the election could go on.”
There are numerous changes ongoing throughout this Grand Jurisdiction making this
Grand Communication extremely important. The power of the ballot from our Past Masters,
seated Master and Wardens cannot be overstressed. We need to make our voices heard regard-
ing the direction the Jurisdiction is headed. Use your right to be heard and let our PMs, WM,
SW and JW know your desires. At a minimum, PMs, WM, SW and JW need to ballot the
Lodge’s concerns on Friday, June 10th (some Resolutions) and Saturday, June 12th (remaining
Resolutions and Grand Lodge elected officers).
Lodge Contact: The Lodge telephone number is 360.504.1180. When no one is available to
take your call, just leave a message on our voicemail – we will return your call. Our Lodge
email address is [email protected]. Emails are always responded to. See
you in Lodge.

The allegory of Jacob's ladder is all about raising spirituality to a higher level of understanding in spiritual awareness. As you travel through the first degree you are introduced to a 24 inch Gauge and the Trestle board, whereby you plan your time and design your future. and the four Cardinal Virtues: Temperance, Forti-tude, Prudence, and Justice.
The second degree is the heart of Freemasonry. The winding staircase of 3 steps of Wis-dom, Strength and Beauty, 5 steps, the five orders of Architecture plus the five senses. feel-ing, tasting, hearing. seeing and smelling and the 7 steps leading to the sanctum sancto-rum. Grammar, rhetoric, logic, arithmetic, geometry music and astronomy are all rungs as-cending Jacob's Ladder. A study and understanding of these steps opens up more layers of DNA to increased enlightenment advancing towards the holy of holies‘. Brothers it is all up to us to make a concentrated effort to study the lessons taught in Freemasonry; to rise to the highest step on Jacobs Ladder, so when we go out into the community, putting into practice all we have learned about love, compassion, forgiveness, we will be able to walk the planet earth and display all the traits of the Masters who walked before us. The final rung on Jacobs ladder is the entrance into the sanctum Santorum and hear the voice of the Father saying "WELCOME HOME SON" I have another adventure for you. Ask any brother to share his adventures towards further light, advancing up the stairs of Jacobs Ladder to graduation from this third dimensional living, into the multidimensional fourth with all its wonders. It is my belief when asked, "What Came Yea Here To Do" is to be of service with the Su-preme Architect of the universe to help all mankind achieve enlightenment.

Our Rainbow girls have been selling Plush Pippin' Apple Pies
in May coming just in time for Memorial Day weekend (frozen
pies--ready to bake). They've also enjoyed helping with the chili
cook-off at the Masonic dinner, have sewn more pillowcases
and walked for Shriner's Hospital during the Grand Worthy Ad
visor's Reception, which will help with the hospitals Horse Therapy Program. The
girls contribution helped the jurisdiction of Washington Idaho, raise over $18,350.00
for the walk.
In June, our girls are having their annual car wash, preparing for Grand Assembly
and having a membership party, June 17th-18th. See a girl and buy a ticket in time to
get your car ready for a summer drive (Cost: $10.00).
Mark your calendars, June 15th, 7 p.m., where we will be honoring our Grand Repre-
sentative of Arkansas, Rylee Collier. This evening our girls will also be practicing
their ritual skills with a mock initiation. Refreshments will follow.
Looking for some excitement? Our jurisdiction announced that our next walk is turn-
ing into a run. Not an ordinary run, but a 6K/12K Rainbow Run for a Cause--Color
Run, in Monroe, September 11, 2016. The Masonic Family Park in Granite Falls will
be open as well for reservations for those participating, supporting and volunteering for
the Run. For more information or to volunteer, visit: https://www.facebook.com/
rbocolorrun/.
We send out a heartfelt thanks to all of our Masons. We wish each of you a Happy
Father's Day. Whether, you are a dad, an uncle, a grandpa, a brother or one amazing
friend. You've made a world of difference in another's life. And, if you've been an
adult volunteer in one of our youth organizations (JoRaDe-Job's Daughters, Rainbow
or DeMolay), you've given a heartfelt gift to our youth. A debt of gratitude for each of
you that have taken time to talk with our girls and attended one of our meetings/events.
Your time has truly made a difference in our members live's. Simply, Thank You!
