In September and October, we had the privilege of starting two new ministries at our mission church – Iglesia Bautista Tierra de Leche y Miel. On September 15, we began offering English classes to the people in South Quito. Kayla is the teacher of these classes, and she has been doing a fantastic job. The first few lessons focused solely on the basics of English, since many of the students did not know any English at all. However, Kayla is now teaching Bible lessons to the students in English, making sure that they understand everything in the lesson in their native Spanish. We have 10 faithful students. Please pray that the Lord would use this ministry to open their hearts to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. On October 13, I began a Thursday night Bible study at the church building in South Quito. The purpose of these Bible studies is to provide Christians with a firm foundation of Bible doctrines and principles. We have 3 Ecuadorians who are faithful to attend these studies. Additions to the Church! After our medical clinic in August, we had the privilege of seeing some new visitors in our church. However, these visitors have not remained faithful to our church services. While this was discouraging to us, the Lord decided to bless us with a new family. Hermano Juan and Hermana Lybia began attending our services on October 9, and have been faithfully attending ever since! The reason they decided to start coming to our church was because Ethan gave Hermano Juan a tract as he was passing in front of our church building! It just goes to show us to never stop passing out tracts; you never know whom you might be reaching with the Gospel! Ending the Year in a New House . . . In September, we began house sitting for a missionary family that lives near the equator line in a town called San Antonio. Our children have been quite happy, because they have a big back yard to play in (back yards are a little hard to find in Quito!). This family will be returning in January, so we will be spending our third Christmas in Ecuador at the Middle of the World. In closing, we want to thank you once again for your faithful support of our ministry. Whether in prayer, finances, or both, without your support we could not continue the work of the Lord here in Ecuador. May God richly bless you, and have a Merry Christmas! September – October 2011 New Ministries Started!

In September and October, we had the privilege of starting two new ministries at our mission church – Iglesia Bautista Tierra de Leche y Miel. On September 15, we began offering English classes to the people in South Quito. Kayla is the teacher of these classes, and she has been doing a fantastic job. The purpose of these Bible studies is to provide Christians with a firm foundation of Bible doctrines and principles. We have 3 Ecuadorians who are faithful to attend these studies.
