I’ll start by sending a big mahalo to our hardworking crew of members and volunteersfor August’s successful rummage / food sale. The funds raised from your purchaseswill go toward our shoreline erosion project. We are grateful for your generosity.

This month, Reverend Hirosato Yoshida from Soto Mission of Hawaii will beconducting the Autumn O-Higan and Ryosoki service on Sunday, September 15 at10:30 am. We’ll try to have a cool ocean breeze to help us transition from Summer’sheat to Fall's gentler temperatures. You can also join us for one of our regular Sundayafternoon zazen sessions where you can release some stress and gain someenlightenment from Sensei Fitzgerald.

Sunday, September 15 at 10:30am

The O-Higan ceremony is observed to honor our departed loved ones and also an occasion to review the sixparamitas that we use as our guidelines for a healthy peaceful life.

The Ryosoki ceremony is a memorial service to honoring the two founders of Soto Zen Buddhism in Japan, DogenZenji and Keizan Zenji. The official day of the Ryosoki is September 29 as both founders had passed around thistime.
