1 September 12 MAX Orange Line Opening Events Schedule Inaugural First Train 8:00 a.m., SE Park Ave Station The inaugural MAX Orange Line first train leaves from the SE Park Ave Station after a small ceremony welcoming Clackamas County representatives aboard and will stop at the Milwaukie/Main St, SE Bybee Blvd, Clinton/SE 12th Ave, and OMSI/SE Water Ave stations to pick up additional Orange Line supporters. Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde members will escort the train over Tilikum Crossing to the South Waterfront/SW Moody Ave Station. 9:15 a.m. Train arrives at SW Lincoln/3rd Ave Station for Opening Ceremonies. Opening Ceremonies 9:30–11:00 a.m., University Place Across the street from the SW Lincoln/3rd Ave MAX Station. Opening Day Speakers 1. Bruce Warner, TriMet Board Chair (introduces Neil who will then emcee) 2. Neil McFarlane, TriMet General Manager 3. Oregon Governor Kate Brown 4. Senator Ron Wyden, US Senate 5. Senator Jeff Merkley, US Senate 6. Congressman Earl Blumenauer, US House of Representatives 7. Congressman Kurt Schrader, US House of Representatives 8. MAX Orange Line opens to the public with events and activities at all ten stations. All MAX trains, TriMet buses, Portland Streetcar and Portland Aerial Tram rides are free, all day. Partial List of MAX Orange Line Opening Day activities by MAX station: Lincoln St/SW 3rd Ave:

• CH2M Hill is the station sponsor; booths include Elders in Action, METRO, Oregon Walks and Portland Bureau of Transportation

• Food • Stage with entertainment all day

South Waterfront/SW Moody Ave:

• OHSU will have activities (TBD) • In the Zidell Yards, The Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde will host a family-

friendly interactive Native American village at the foot of Tilikum Crossing in South Waterfront

OMSI/SE Water Ave:

• The Willamette Light Brigade will host sales of our bridge poster • Portland Opera will have strolling singers throughout the day, plus tours of their building

and costumes on display • Tours of All Classical 89.9 FM radio station • Portland Streetcar and Portland Bridge Festival will have booths • Beer Garden featuring new Tilikum Crossing beer

Clinton/SE 12th Ave:

• There will be an 8’ tall Ikebana flower arrangement on the platform – a gift from the nearby Buddhist Temple

• Trackers Earth will have an archery demo • Beaverton Modular Railroad will have a 20x30 display of model trains • Salt and Straw will sell Tilikum ice cream • Entertainment and food carts

SE Tacoma St/Johnson Creek:

• Johnson Creek Watershed will have tours of the nature boardwalk • Pendleton Woolen Mills will have blankets on display plus in-store activities • Claudia the Chinook salmon static display (see her photo below)

Milwaukie/Main St:

• Two stages, lots of music, entertainment, booths and food carts • Milwaukie Farmers Market all day

SE Park Ave:

• Clackamas County will have lots of activities • Booths: Drive Less Save More and Metro • Food and entertainment
