SEPTEMBER 2014 Local Programs Matter! PBS39 is proud to be a part of your community, and we are equally proud to bring you quality local programming that matters to you and your family. This month, we highlight our local news magazine show, FOCUS, which was recently nominated for four Mid-Atlantic Emmy® Awards. Kicking off season two on Friday, September 19 at 7pm, FOCUS showcases local people, places, and issues. FOCUS is produced by an Emmy® award- winning team and captures the essence of the PBS39 mission to educate, inspire and entertain. Every week, Laura McHugh (executive producer/host), Grover Silcox (reporter/producer), and Brittany Garzillo (reporter/producer) cover national and local issues, connecting our community members to resources available in the Greater Lehigh Valley. In addition to providing viewers with in-depth coverage of timely topics, the taping of the show provides more than 500 students with free field trips, giving them a behind-the- scenes look at PBS39 and offering a unique career exploration experience.
