I want to thank you all for your patience during the church construction. We have had to juggle our seating arrangements but we are all weathering the storm. We will be hosting our first fund raiser during the month of October (construction completion permitting) and it should be much fun. Mike McClusky will speak about it at our next business meeting. Please be sure to volunteer for the event so it goes off smoothly.

Also Jim Raleigh will give us an update on the upcoming Christmas Dinner Dance. Again give Jim your support when he asks for volunteers to help on the night of the dance as well as soliciting door prizes from local businesses.

We are blessed to have some new members getting ready to take their first degree. We need to bring our First Degree Team up to speed and also have some backup team members in case someone is out of town as is the current case. I was ready to hold the degree at our September meeting however we did not have the whole team available.

Be sure to contact Brother Corky and volunteer for our Meals on Wheels assistance as he is trying to cover both Kings Point and Sun City Center areas on our assigned days.

When the church construction is completed we will once again start our Eucharistic Adoration on Wednesdays after the 8:00 mass. Please be sure to sign up for 1 hour to spend with Our Lord. We Knights need to set an example for the whole Parish to encourage more parishioners to attend.

See you all at our next business meeting and remember to use the phrase "I C N U" often when you encounter a future Knight.

Vivat Jesus

Larry Seick

My Brother Knights,

GRAND KNIGHT’S MESSAGE

Dear Brother Knights,

As I write this message, I have been

watching news coverage of the horrendous flooding in Texas and continuous and unending snippets of the resultant widespread and shocking human suffering. The storm and its aftermath of nearly unimaginable amounts of rainfall is a calamity of huge proportions, difficult to grasp even with all the images and interviews in the newscasts. Our Supreme Knight and State Deputy have issued appeals for donations for disaster relief. I hope that by the time you are reading these words many of you will have responded as generously as possible. The rescue efforts by first responders, National Guard, and unnumbered private citizens individually and as organized groups like the "Cajun Navy", for instance, is heartening and speaks volumes about Americans' capacity for love of neighbor. So too, the efforts of all the volunteers at the public shelters.

It occurs that we might be reminded by these actions of the principles exemplified in the four degrees of our Order, namely, charity,

unity, fraternity and patriotism. People selflessly helping people in peril, distress, and great need demonstrate the virtues we are called to emulate and nurture in ourselves as Knights of Columbus. Let us, then, not lose sight of our professed purposes and of our opportunity to reflect and exemplify these values within the body of Christ.

We ought, as Catholic gentlemen to do all in our power to fulfill the callings of our faith by actively participating in our Council and Assembly and stepping forward to help wherever and whenever needs are presented. The opportunities to serve are many; ushers, alter servers, ecumenical ministers, lectors, servers at Adoration, helping with RCIA, are a few examples of needs within the church. In the community, men are needed to deliver meals on wheels, help at VA Bingo nights at Haley and attend prayer vigils at the Fletcher Ave abortion clinic, to mention just a few. Attend our meetings; participate; let your light shine.

Vivat Jesus,

Duncan

Dear Brother Knights,

Thank you for your past support of our

parish Wednesday Adoration of the

Most Blessed Sacrament.

Knights offer their time as servers and in

private prayer. I encourage you to renew

your commitment to making Adoration a

priority of our parish’s liturgical life.

Thank you for the good example you set by

being present. It must certainly be pleasing

before the Lord.

God’s blessings to you in this season of

thankfulness.
