A. Condo Rental Market

1. September 2021 rents climb 0.7% fromAugust 2021. CCR, RCR and OCR rents increaseby 1.0%, 0.5% and 0.8% respectively.

• Year-on-year, overall rents increase by 8.0%from September 2020.

• Year-on-year, rents in CCR, RCR and OCRincrease by 7.2%, 8.1% and 8.3%respectively.

• Rents are down 10.3% from the peak inJanuary 2013.

2. Volumes decrease by 0.7% month-on-month.An estimated 4,454 units are rented in September2021 as compared to 4,484 units rented in August2021.

• Year-on-year, rental volumes are 3.0%lower.

• Volumes are 2.3% higher than the 5-yearaverage volume for the month ofSeptember.

• Breaking down by regions, in September2021, 39.3% of the total volumes are fromOCR, 31.1% from RCR and 29.7% fromCCR.

• Actual volume in August is lower than theestimate given in last month's flash report.

B. HDB Rental Market

1. September 2021 HDB rents increase by 0.6%from August 2021. Mature and Non-MatureEstates rents increase by 1.0% and 0.1%respectively. 3 Room, 5 Room and Executive rentsincrease by 0.9%, 0.6% and 0.3% respectivelywhile 4 Room rents remain unchanged.

• Year-on-year, overall rents increase by8.8%.

• Year-on-year, Mature Estates and Non-Mature Estates rents increase by 7.7% and10.0% respectively.

• Year-on-year, all room types record rentincreases: 3 Room by 7.1%, 4 Room by9.4%, 5 Room by 10.0% and Executive rentsby 7.6%.

• Rents are down 6.8% from the peak inAugust 2013.

2. Volumes decrease by 0.5% month-on-month.An estimated 1,702 HDB flats are rented inSeptember 2021 compared to 1,710 units inAugust 2021.

• Year-on-year, rental volumes increase by2.9% from September 2020.

• Volumes are 4.6% lower than the 5-yearaverage volume for the month ofSeptember.

• Breaking down by room types, inSeptember 2021, 37.4% of the totalvolumes are from 4 Room, 33.9% from 3Room, 23.3% from 5 Room and 5.5% fromExecutive.

• Actual volume in August is lower than theestimate given in last month's flash report.
