In most Pharmaceutical Supply Chains, RFID systems are used. Since an RFID system has a tag-reader infrastructure, the tagged asset has to be within 10 feet of a reader for the data to be scanned and sent to the cloud. This causes many issues in transit with counterfeit, tampered, and stolen products in the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain and causing companies to lose millions. Thus we have created a “Pill Bottle Tracker” which is a small GSM board that utilizes Satellite and Cellular networks to provide an end-to-end security program.

RFID products compared to Our product

RFID products

• RFID can be costly

– Infrastructure can cost from $500 to $3M• Having to replace a damaged reader can

be very costly

– Leads to a costly development cycle • Very difficult to integrate with the existing

system• Hard to configure and manage devices

– Increased Labor Costs• Tag needs to be close to the reader in

order to read the RFID Tag which is scanned.

Our Product

• Our product eliminates costs of the RFID Reader Infrastructure:

– ZERO Reader Infrastructure

– Data is sent to a Portal, over the Cellular or Satellite Network

– Shorten development cycle• Easy to integrate with existing system-

to-data portal.

– Automation• The device will send the data via the

portal straight to your computer to access the data in Real-Time

• Possible to send data directly to your smartphone – great for Prototyping.

Key Features

Bottle Diameter:47.5mm

Bottle Length:95mm

PCB Width:39.5mm

PCB Length:76mm

Due to the small size of an OEM M2M/IOT board, this may be embedded in pallets and expensive, or other critical equipment.

Product Integrity• Have a complete end to end

security program that enhances visibility

– Avoid issues with parallel trade. • Better visibility allows you to know if

products are being transported from other countries to be sold in a major market. The tracker can help identify which wholesaler is driving down market value and leads to a crackdown of parallel trade

– Asses the integrity of the product.• GPS tracking allows security personnel

and quality assurance personnel to verify the integrity of the product.

Asset View on the Teezle Portal:The Pill Bottle was placed in the Glove Compartment of a Ford Fusion. Throughout the duration of the trip, GPS Coordinates were calculated and recorded every 5 minutes.

Accuracy of Data

The issue with tracking in cities Is there are weak signals due to tall buildings and other sources of interference. To deal with this AGPS and Multiple Samples/packet were applied. Testing was done in NYC and Singapore as a worst-case scenario. Testing revealed we now obtain a 5m Circular Error Probability (CEP) fix in <40 seconds.

5m CEP fix

Asset View on a Portal:The Pill Bottle was moved into my hotel room and this illustrates the indoor (specific case) accuracy of ~5m CEP. Building is apparently a wood stick architecture as a metal roof would block weak GPS signals at < -150 dBm. Cellular signals can be used in conjunction with GPS for increased signal strength. We have many data portal options and keep in mind this data can be sent directly to your Smartphone.

Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA)

•The overall technology system can help with data security and Supply Chain Management to comply with the (DSCSA).

• Starting January 1, 2015 (now pushed to May 2015) Manufacturers, Wholesalers and Repackagers have to share Transaction Information, History and Statements initially at the Lot (or Batch) level of identification.

-The board can be easily embedded into a pallet for tracking items at the Batch Level. As the asset is in transit, the distribution history is tracked and sent to a portal to be used for an E-pedigree.

•Starting July 1, 2015 pharmacy (hospitals and retail) have to share Transaction Information, History and Statements initially at the Batch level

-With the small size of the board, it can be easily inserted into a pill bottle for Track and Trace.

Page 13: Sense And Trace

Future DSCSA events•In 2017-2019 each individual drug package needs a product identifier, Serial Number, Lot Number and Expiration Date.

-Due to the small size of the board, each individual package can contain a tracker.-Board can be customized to contain unique serial and lot numbers-Manufacturers still have to input Expiration Data

•By 2023, information that would allow supply chain partners to trace the ownership back to the initial manufacturer or repackager has to be readily available.

-As the distribution history of each product is tracked, the information is sent to a portal and maintained in an E-pedigree.- Allows for better record keeping for accountability. -IT solutions can be customized for partners to see relevant data.

Note: These solutions can be customized to the specific needs of the business. We will work with you to address these needs and comply with the law.

Regulatory• Avoid Temperature excursions

– Temperature sensors have a wide range 20C to 55 C Operating Class A or -40C to 85C Operating Class B

– Alarm is triggered when product is near an excursion and proactive measures can be taken

• Adapt to challenges in transit– Monitor where shipments are at all times and be able to provide accurate delivery times enhancing

customer service and satisfaction

• Keep track of important records– Use of Mobile solutions to ensure product reaches end-user– Data is stored via the portal and provides for easy access

• Battery life is optimized– Charge lasts for 30 days in Alarm mode – Charge can last 1 to 2 days in always track GPS mode

Note: Temperature Sensors and Batteries used can be customized to fit the specific needs of the business.
