are invited to attend the fth annualSenior Sampler on Sunday, May 6.
The event, which is sponsored by the
Webster Groves Senior Roundtable, isdesigned to help older adults and theirfamilies learn about service providersand living options in the area. It offersa resource fair that will feature infor-
mation about support services such ashome-delivered meals, in-home careand transportation. There will also bean opportunity to visit local senior liv-ing communities that will hold openhouses that day.
The Senior Sampler starts withthe Senior Resource Fair, which willbe held from noon to 2 p.m. at the Web-ster Groves Recreation Complex atGlendale and South Elm avenues. TheShepherds Center of Webster/Kirk-
wood, Seniors Home Care, BethesdaHealth Group, Homewatch Caregiversand other companies will have infor-
mation booths at the fair.People will then have an opportu-
nity to visit six senior living commu-nities at their convenience from 1 to
4 p.m. This years Senior Samplersites include:
Provision Living, 140 E.Lockwood, which is currently un-der construction, is a $10.8 million,90,000-square-foot assisted livingand memory care community with
80 units. There will be 62 residentialcare community units and 18 assist-ed living memory care units. Studio,one-bedroom and two-bedroom apart-ments will be available. The facility islocated in downtown Webster Grovesdirectly across from city hall and isclose to several shops and restaurants.The three-story building will featureunderground parking for residents.Provision Living also will have a well-
ness center and a cafe open to the pub -lic. Work is expected to be completedby the end of 2012.
The Rockwood, 330 W. Lock-
wood Ave., is a place for active adults
age 62 and older. It is located in theheart of Historic Old Webster and iswithin walking distance of several
shopping and dining venues. TheRockwood has 29 one- and two-bed-room apartments with a variety ofoor plans, and the facility providesservices and individualized care toeach of its residents. With only 29apartments, residents get to knowtheir neighbors and the staff memberson a personal level. The Rockwood alsocaters to its residents when it comesto food, offering dining experiences asvaried as each individuals tastes.
Pacifc Place RetirementCommunity, 45 S. Old Orchard, has33 apartments and two cottages for aunique urban senior living experiencefor independent seniors who valuetheir freedom. The smaller size of Pa-cic Place promotes a more intimatesetting, a personable staff and service-oriented environment. Residents haveseveral options for dining cooking intheir own kitchens, visiting the facili-tys dining room or eating out at one ofthe many restaurants within walkingdistance. Several shops are also in thearea. Its location also provides oppor-
tunities for entertainment, banking
and cultural experiences close by.
