*Once your portfolio is accepted as complete you will receive your special portfolio folder to place all items for future use.

WHAT IS A PORTFOLIO? Your portfolio is all about YOU! It shows your progress and accomplishments during high school and contains information about you that others would be interested in knowing. Your portfolio includes a cover letter, resume, and the grades you’ve received for the high school classes you have taken . It will also includes certificates or awards you have received, your activities during high school, and your education and career goals. No matter what your future plans, you will find the information in your portfolio to be very useful.

Senior Survey This is a single sheet that requires you to apply to a 4 year college/university, community college or trade/certificate school and apply for Financial Aide. 1. You must write which school you plan to attend (not all the schools you

applied to for 2017). *Show proof of acceptance: 4 year college/university–copy of acceptance letter Community college– print confirmation email 2. Apply for FAFSA or Dream Act *Show proof of acceptance: 4 year college/university-portal financial aide award, Community college-FAFSA or Dream Act Confirmation email. 3. Apply for CAL GRANT: *Show proof of acceptance: Community college-print GPA page from account. *Please see College Counselor, Mrs. Giron if you have questions/challenges.*

Detention Owed

You must have cleared all detention hours in order to participate in any school activities which include senior picnic, prom, gradnite and the graduation ceremony.

Detention hours are cleared by attending after school detention Monday-Thursday, and Saturdays (see Mr. Sanchez, Dean for availability on Saturdays)

For every 5 tardies you accumulate you earn an hour of detention. If detention is not served hours will be doubled.

*If you need an update of the hours you owe please see Mr. Sanchez, Dean or personnel supervising detention during the week after school.

Abraham Lincoln Class of 2017 Senior Picnic Date: Friday, April 7, 2017

Location: Six Flags Magic Mountain

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Cost: Estimated: $75.00 (based on 100 participants)

Includes: Entrance to park, All-You-Can-Eat Buffet, 1-Kodak Voucher and Picnic Activities

Tickets on Sale: March 13 (Monday) – March 27, 2017 (Monday)

Location: Room 119/Mrs. Boykins during Lunch & Afterschool Only [Home periods okay]

• All students must ride on the school bus to the park and returning to

school. • Seniors must not owe any detention hours and be in good standing. • Only Eligible Seniors are allowed/No guest. • Students may not invite chaperones. • Lincoln Seniors must follow all school rules/park guidelines. • Seniors that do not follow school rules/park guidelines will jeopardize

participating in the graduation ceremony. • Tickets are non refundable.

Regulations for Senior Picnic…..

SENIOR FINALS…… • Tuesday, May 30, 2017 – Periods 1 & 5

• Wednesday, May 31, 2017 – Periods 2 & 6

• Thursday, June 1, 2017 – Periods 3 & 7

• Friday, June 2, 2017 – Periods 4 & 8

*Seniors that receive a D/Fails during 15-week progress report and are making up requirements in Adult School, Edgenuity, etc. will be designated as Non-Grads until all requirements are met satisfactory.

Lincoln High School Senior Prom Contract Even though the Lincoln High School Senior Prom is a school activity IT IS NOT an LAUSD or school sponsored event. This means that nor LAUSD nor Lincoln High School can be held liable for incidents occurring at the site. Students and their guests will be subject to school rules in effect during regular school hours. Any infraction of the rules will be handled according to established school policy and may result in the loss of further participation in any senior class activity, including graduation and Grad-Nite. There will be no refunds……….

Contracts will be available in Room 119 beginning April 24, 2017. *Payment Plans will be in effect and you will be notified by Sept. 16, 2017.

CLASS OF 2017 PROM When: Saturday, June 3, 2017 (to be confirmed) Where: Marina del Rey – FantaSea Yachts (to be confirmed) Time: 6:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. *late arrivals will be left on shore* Ticket Price: $145.00 (fundraisers may cause a small refund-TBD) Tickets on Sale: Payment Plan is Required Requirements: Prom Contract completed and returned, Guest Contract (if applicable) completed and approved by Administrator, No Detention Owed (See Dean Sanchez), and in good standing. Tickets only sold to those that have completed all requirements stated above. *Guest ticket must be purchased at the same time as student ticket. Students not in good standing at Lincoln may not be guest.*

• Turn in Graduation Contract and Clearance Form to Mrs.

• Receive Medallion & 3 Free Tickets for the graduation

ceremony. (additional tickets earned will be given at this

time)

• Tickets go on sale tentatively on Monday, May 22, 2017.

The Celestials When: Thursday, June 8, 2017 Where: Lincoln HS Football Field Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (Ceremony begins promptly at 6:00 p.m. Cost: $5.00 (1st 3 free to qualified seniors) Tickets on Sale: May 22, 2017– June 8, 2017 (at the Student Store and on the 8th any available tickets will be sold at the gate). *Seniors must report to the small gymnasium by 4:45 p.m.

*Seniors must follow the Graduation Contract. *Gates open at 5:00 p.m. for guest.

*No Balloons/Noise makers allowed. *Everyone Subject to search.
