A Tradition of Caring
Caring for the elderly is more than a Jewish tradition. It is a tenet that has been passed from generation to generation and lives today in the hearts and minds of the families that comprise our community and the employees who so diligently and passionately serve it.At the Jewish Community Housing Corporation, we are dedicated not only to meeting but exceeding the highest expectations of the retirees who live in our active and assisted living communities, as well as their families. Our goal is not just to provide a place to live, but a true sense of community. We do this with compassion, with respect, and with a good deal of joy.
Our Communities
The Lester Senior Housing Community, consisting of 175 units, is comprised of the Margaret & Martin Heller Independent Living Apartments and the Judy & Josh Weston Assisted Living Residence. Situated on the Aidekman Jewish Federation Campus off Route 10 East in Whippany, the community opened in May 2001. It consists of a mix of 84 market-rental 1 & 2 bedroom Independent Living units; 36 1-bedroom low & moderate Independent Living units; and 55 Assisted Living studio and 1-bedrooom units. When it opened, Lester was the first Jewish-sponsored, kosher Assisted Living community in the state of New Jersey.
