SALARY SURVEY hr market update – commerce & industry The C & I market in HR has seen quite an interesting 2019. Sectors such as retail and consumer goods have seen a slow down due to the changing landscape of UK’s highstreets and the uncertainty of Brexit.
Other sectors such as Communications and technology haveremained very strong with even increases in demand for HRprofessionals in the Fintech areas. As a continuation of a trendfor beginning of 2019 firms have had to hire with Brexit inmind in areas like organisational design and changemanagement at the fore.
In 2019 we have seen a number of General industry moves andsome big changes in media, Ecommerce and gaming . This ismostly due to massive transformations and mergers in these
sectors leading to new teams delivering wide ranging rewardand governance strategies to globally.
In the retail /FMCG sectors there have been a lot of changeswith major headquarter moves and Mergers & Acquisitions ofstaff from the large supermarkets. Even with the challenginglandscape of the retail sector the reward HR professional hasbeen in high demand with issues like equal pay and union paynegotiations and this trend is likely to continue into 2020.
