CAHSEE

• You must pass both the Language Arts (English) and Mathematics sections of the CAHSEE in order to receive a High School Diploma. 350 is a passing score.

• Seniors have 3 opportunities to take the CAHSEE :– Fall 2014: Nov 4th and 5th – Winter 2015: Feb 3rd and 4th – Spring 2015: May 12th and 13th

• Sign up ASAP to take/retake your SAT or ACT by November 30th

• Study for your SAT/ACT• Decide where you’re applying• Make a plan to repeat D/F grades• Submit UC and CSU applications by November 30• Visit college campuses• Begin researching scholarship opportunities• Meet with your counselor to make sure you’re on track to

apply• Request letters of recommendation• Make sure you’re passing all classes with a grade of C or

• Attend the College Basics Workshop on Sept 30th .

If you can’t make it, see your counselor during nutrition break or lunch.

• Attend the Counseling ABC College Application Workshops every Thursday Oct 2nd-Nov 20th from 3:00pm to 4:30pm in the College & Career Center.

• Mr. Ramirez will be available in Room 731 during class time. Must have Teacher/Parent permission to miss class. See your counselor for dates and to get a permission slip.

• Mrs. Wilson will be available in the College & Career Center during lunch on Tuesdays and Fridays Oct 10th – Nov 18th

Financial Aid Is Not Just For Students Going To A 4-Year University

• Financial Aid is available for ALL accredited vocational and technical programs, community colleges and 4-year universities.

• Must fill out the FAFSA or Dream Act • You can start applying January 1st 2015 • Deadline to apply is March 2nd 2015 • Check with our register (Mrs. Krebs) to see if you

turned in your CAL Grant verification form. Counseling department will be hosting a financial aid

night: Wednesday, January 14th, 2015 from 5:30 pm to

8:00pm.FAFSA workshop:
