May Celebrate centenarians —May is older Americans Month.

We’ll be celebrating Prince George’s County residents who are ages 100 and older!Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Rosa Parks, Vince Lombardi and Jesse Owens were all born in 1913— one hundred years ago! That same year, the first crossword puzzle was published, prizes were put into Cracker Jack packages for the first time and the zipper was patented. Prince George’s County centenarians are truly special and The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission is proud to honor them at a one-of-a-kind centenarian celebration.

GLADYS MooRE, 103 years old, resides in Oxon Hill with her daughter, Mable. Gladys has shown amazing kindness through-out her life by consistently helping others in need. She is well-known and loved in her community. Gladys is a spirited woman who has worked very hard through-out her life. She attended the special Centenarian Celebration in 2010, 2011 and 2012!
