When going through the transition from middle school to high school, floods of rumors circulate about the new atmosphere and even myths of Lindbergh’s campus itself. The gullibility of freshman year filled students with false beliefs, but now, as seniors, students realize that the myths are not as logical as they once seemed.

“There was once a rumor that Dr. Helms had hair, but it was a total myth. He was actually the inspiration for Lady Gaga’s

song “Born This Way” because he was born bald and he still is,” said Keith Leubbert

(11th grade principal).

“I’ve heard the myth that there’s a homeless man living in the underground tunnels, but it was just a rumor,” said Laura Carr (10th grade secretary).

“Apparently some girl hanged herself in the Auditorium lobby and you can still hear her screams late at night,” said Hannah Marler.

“I thought that there were going to be fights all the

time. I have yet to witness a fight,” said Kelsey Sparr.“I thought boys were gonna get their

drawers ripped (wedgies),” said Tyler Ishmon. “So the reason we don’t have a Gym

1 is because like 20 years ago, after a basketball game, there was a really awful vandalizing and they had to tear it down because it was so terrible,”

said Elizabeth Uxa.

“The pool is haunted because a kid snuck in before his gym class and drowned,” said Tiana Schmitt.

“Bring your books”, “study, study, study!”, “listen to your teacher”, “do all of your homework”, these are some typical pieces of advice that teachers give to their students to help them be successful in high school. Every high school student has been taught these universal rules since the day they started Pre K, and they are considered neces-sary to succeed. With the numerous years of math and social studies, the dreadful projects that never turned out perfect, and the long hours spent on homework and studying for tests, a student can learn a lot. Of course, what teachers teach their students is important and no-doubt helpful, but what does a student learn in high school that a teacher didn’t teach them?
