Sending Email attachments

Click on ‘EXTRANET’.

An email attachment is a computer file sent along with an email message. One of the primary uses and advantages of email is that you can quickly and easy share photos,

documents, and other types of files with someone else. But to do so, you need to

know how to attach a file to an email to prepare to send it. For most email programs,

the paper clip icon is the symbol to look for to attach a file.

Click on ‘E-MAIL ACCESS’.

ENTER your user name and

password. Passwords are case

sensitive.

Click ‘NEW’ message.

ENTER message recipient

in TO field.

Click the PAPER CLIP icon to

add an Attachment (file).

Click ‘BROWSE’. Find the

location of the file on your

computer (or flash drive, etc).

Note: If an item has been scanned in the lab,

the default location is My Documents/My

Pictures/Picture.

SELECT (Click on or highlight) the

file you want to attach and click

OPEN.

Note: Can also double-click on file

name to attach

Browsing for file,

Look for file name to

CONFIRM file has been

selected.

Click ATTACH.

LOOK for file name under

current file attachments. Click

‘GO BACK TO MESSAGE.’

Click ‘SEND’

Note: Keep file size in mind. Photos can be

large files and you may need to send more

than one message if you are sending several

photos.

If a message someone sent you

contains an attached file, you

will see a PAPERCLIP ICON

beside the sender’s name.

Only open attachments from

trusted sources.
