REDUCING YOUR PROPERTY TAX BURDENSenator Norcross' offices are set up to help you with your Senior Freeze andHomestead Rebate forms. These programs benefit over 18,000 seniors who receivean average of $1,200 per household.

ACCESS TO QUALITY HEALTHCARE OPTIONSSenator Norcross has supported initiatives to include New Jersey residents in theAffordable Care Act and Medicaid Expansion. Now that these measures are takingeffect, our office is ready to help you access the quality and affordable healthcareoptions available to you.

HELPING MIDDLE CLASS FAMILIES CARE FOR LOVED ONESUnderstanding the enormous cost of caring for loved ones who are sick, SenatorNorcross introduced the Caregiver Tax Credit, which provides property tax relief tomiddle-class families.

PROTECTING OUR VETERANSSeeking to lower the veteran unemployment rate in New Jersey, SenatorNorcross’ Veterans Set-Aside encourages local governments to awardcontracts to veteran-owned or employed businesses. He also passedlegislation holding the place of an active duty service member on the CivilService list. No one should miss a job opportunity because they areprotecting our country.

PROVIDING SAFE HAVENSIn the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, Senator Norcross heard from hisconstituents about the need for dedicated emergency shelters equippedwith alternative emergency power generators. He introduced the SafeShelter Act which requires all county emergency managementcoordinators to ensure that every temporary emergency shelter hasaccess to an emergency power generator, potable water and a sewagedisposal plan.

CornerCONSTITUENT

Getting the proper tax relief... A gentleman reached out to Senator Norcross’ office for assistancewith his property taxes. Upon reaching out to the State Board ofTaxation, we discovered that the base year for his HomesteadRebate was set too high. Upon resetting his base year to its original2003 assessment, the gentleman was eligible for a rebate of over$1,200.

Caring for our seniors...A constituent had trouble transferring his father to a hospice carefacility closer to his home. After discussions with the facility onbehalf of the constituent, Senator Norcross’ office was able tosecure the transfer. This helped the constituent more easilysupervise his father’s care, and gave his father greater peace ofmind.

Providing for our military families...A recent widow was unsure of whether she was eligible forveteran's spouse benefits she was eligible for. Senator Norcross’office reached out to the Office of Veterans Affairs and as a result,the constituent now receives an additional $80 per month.

Helping residents access the programs available tothem to help provide property tax relief, improvehealthcare and gain the benefits they deserve.

South Jersey legislators want to provide

a tax break for people who support a

senior family member in their home.

The measure is intended to help baby

boomers who now face the need to care

for aging parents. Estimates say some

1.7 million New Jerseyans provide

caregiver services.
