AbstractThis document contains information on new features and changes that are introduced with the current software version.Finally, the document provides a tabular overview of the major innovations and changes that have been introduced with the various software releases (change history).

New Features and ChangesWORKSTATION: TEMPORARY ALARM SUPPRESSION

Description In the new version of the SeMSy® 5 Video Management System an application has been integrated with which alarms can be temporarily suppressed. The “Suppress Alarm(s)” app can be used by operators with the corresponding authorization.

Alarms can be temporarily deactivated in the new application. To do this, complete origi-nator devices can be deactivated directly, which then no longer send an alarm until the state is canceled again. However, it is also possible to suppress certain alarm types.

The new app clearly shows which alarm types and originator devices are currently sup-pressed. In addition, the overview informs which operator caused the suppression and for what reason.

WORKSTATION: SUPPRESS ALARMS VIA INBOX ENTRIES

Description An extension to the new “Suppress Alarm(s)” app has also been implemented in the “Alarm Inbox” in the current version of the SeMSy® 5 Video Management.

Two new alarm suppression options have been added to the details view of the “Alarm Inbox”. This allows the data of alarm messages (originator, alarm type) to be transferred to the “Suppress Alarm(s)” app and used to suppress the selected alarms.


WORKSTATION: CHANGE HISTORY VIEW FOR ALARMS

Description In the new version of the SeMSy® 5 Video Management it is introduced the new history view for alarms.

The “History” view tab is located in the “Details” column on the right side of the “Alarm Inbox” app. It lists the change history of an alarm in a datagrid.

WORKSTATION: MAINTENANCE FEATURE FOR CAMERAS

Description Camera devices can be marked with a maintenance state in the new version of the SeMSy® 5 Video Management System. With this new function, an operator can create a maintenance ticket for a camera if the device is defective or shows other impairments during operation. Camera devices in maintenance mode are highlighted in yellow in the camera tree of the “Navigator”.

This process simultaneously generates a corresponding alarm event. The event informs the responsible service personnel about the device in maintenance mode. The service team will then repair the device in a targeted manner.

The new maintenance feature requires a chargeable license. Operators have to be granted the corresponding right for maintenance actions via group authorizations.


WORKSTATION: INCIDENT AND BACKUP CREATION REQUIRES AUTHORIZATION

Description The current version of the SeMSy® 5 Video Management System introduces new permis-sions for “Incidents” provided by the “Alarm and Incident Management (AIMS) “ module. The permission to create a new “Incident” in SeMSy® 5 has now to be explicitly config-ured for workstation operators via group permissions.

In addition, the creation of a backup can be linked to an “Incident” number. This means that a backup can only be executed if it is also associated with an “Incident”.

The necessary “Incident” rights can be configured for user groups in the “Rights Editor” in the “Configuration” app.

WORKSTATION: REAL-TIME UPDATES FOR INCIDENTS LIST

Description The handling of “Incidents” for the “Alarm and Incident Management (AIMS) “ has been extended by an update feature in the new version of the SeMSy® 5 Video Management System.

The drop-down list in SeMSy® 5 from, which an “Incident” is selected for linking to a backup, is now updated in real-time on a workstation if a new “Incident” is simultaneously created elsewhere in a SeMSy® 5 system.

WORKSTATION: FILTER SETTINGS UNIQUE PER CAMERA TREE

Description The filters with which a camera tree in the “Navigator” can be sorted are now unique for each camera tree. In the current version of the “SeMSy® 5 Video Management, filter settings created by an operator for a camera tree are no longer matched with all other camera trees on a workstation.

WORKSTATION: DEFINE OWN SPLIT BACKGROUND

Description In the default setting, the Dallmeier company logo “Panther” is shown as the back-ground image in a split. In the new version of the SeMSy® 5 Video Management it is now possible to set a separate background for split windows.

In addition to the default setting “Panther”, two other options are now available: • no background• own wallpaper

A separate background image is included via an URL that refers to an image on the local workstation or on a network drive.


WORKSTATION: COLORIZE CAMERA TREE ITEMS COMPLETELY IN CURRENT STATUS COLOR

Description Hardware states of cameras can now be identified even more clearly in the new version of the SeMSy® 5 Video Management.

In this way, the entry of a camera in the camera tree of the “Navigator” can be complete-ly colored in the current state color: errors are displayed in red, warnings and a mainte-nance state in yellow.

WORKSTATION: LOGBOOK FILTER EXTENDED BY FURTHER MODULES

Description In the new version of the SeMSy® 5 Video Management System, the range of functions of the “Logbook” application has been extended.

It is now also possible to filter the following ASA modules:• Alarm and Incident Management (AIMS)• Alarms• People Count• Storage

WORKSTATION: NEW PTZ QUICK LOCK OPTION VIA VMC TOUCH

Description The new version of the SeMSy® 5 Video Management System integrates a new button for the function “PTZ Quick Lock” into the user interface of the VMC Touch.

Using this button will quick-lock the PTZ function of a camera without the requirement to state a reason or password. The comment “Quick PTZ Lock” will be added automati-cally to the locking so other users can see how the PTZ was locked.


WORKSTATION: DISPLAY THE ONLINE STATUS OF USERS

Description The users of a SeMSy® 5 system can be listed in the corresponding person widget on a “Dashboard”. The functionality of this widget has now been extended in the new version of the SeMSy® 5 Video Management: The persons widget now also shows whether a user is currently online.

For this purpose the entry of a user in the list of persons is marked green when the user is online. This new option can be used to configure person widgets, for example, that only display users who are online.
