improvement program that incorporates services designed for the healthy population, those

at risk, those with chronic illness, and the acutely ill. Program offerings include the following:

myCigna - This personalized, confidential website grants members access to

interactive health tools. Members also have access to decision-support tools and an

online health library. Members can track their claims (including their fund balance),

find in-network providers/facilities, look up the cost of procedures and medications,

and track their wellness incentive progress. The site also provides personalized

Health Trackers—graphic tools for tracking important health measurements over

time. Members can also access myCigna via a mobile app (iOS and android).

Health Assessment - Cigna’s online health assessment helps members identify

potential health risks and steps to leading a healthier life.

24-hour Health Information Line - Cigna’s health information line provides

convenient, toll-free 24-hour access to RNs for answers to health questions,

assessment of current symptoms, self-care recommendations, and triage to the

appropriate level of care, when needed.

Healthy Rewards® Discount Program - Cigna offers discounts on programs and

services designed to help you enhance your health and wellness. The offers include

brand names such as Jenny Craig®, Pearle Vision®, Curves®, drugstoreTM, and

more. The Healthy Rewards program can be found on myCigna.com.

Cigna Health Coaching (Telephonic and Online)- Cigna provides healthy and at-risk

members with one-on-one coaching from a health advocate (nurse, health educator,

behavioral clinician, or nutritionist) for six health topics/conditions, including

hypertension, hyperlipidemia, healthy eating, physical activity, prevention, and pre-

diabetes. Predictive modeling and other identification sources also allow health

advocates to coach members coping with one of several preference-sensitive care

conditions. Outreach for identified potential gaps in care related to hypertension and

hyperlipidemia is part of this program.

Healthy Pregnancies Healthy Babies® Maternity Education - This voluntary prenatal

service offers expectant parents educational materials from the March of Dimes®

goal of Cigna’s onsite flu clinic program is to provide an easily accessible and

convenient way for employees to learn about the flu, understand the risks of the flu,

and take action by getting the flu vaccination.

web-based coaching for tobacco cessation, weight management and stress

management. Together, coaches and members develop and maintain customized,

Ideas to Boost Wellness at Your Site:

Have a fitness instructor (yoga, Pilates, jazzercise, etc.) or boot camp provider come

to your school once a week to conduct onsite fitness classes after school.

Have a monthly salad day at your site. Pick a day each month and place a sign-up

sheet in the break room. Each peer can sign up for one item to bring to add to a

salad. It’ easy, fun and an inexpensive way to enjoy a healthy lunch.

Advertise a local charity run or walk and work to organize a team to participate from

your site.

Host onsite health seminars! Julie Slocum, RN, CCM, your Cigna health coach, can

lead many health-related seminars on many nutrition and health topics. Host the

seminar after or before the work day begins and provide a healthy snack to those

who join!

Work with your administration or manager to highlight one peer per month who has

participated in a Wellness related activity or achieved a personal Wellness goal. Have

your peers email you nominations and then recognize one or two winners each

month. Provide the winners with gift cards.

Organize a site walking club! Get your peers together for a walk around the site either

before or after the work day. Use your wellness allowance to have t-shirts and/or

water bottles made to identify walkers!

Ask your administration or manager for some time during certain group meetings to

highlight Wellness Achievements at your site and give out information on the District-

wide challenges.

Use your Wellness allowance to purchase small gym equipment for the break room –

light hand weights, resistance bands, kettle bells, or floor mats. Use of this during

breaks or after school can help improve not only physical fitness, but stress relief!
