SELF STUDY REPORT Criterion 7 Institutional Values and Best Practices Metric 7.1.18 Great leaders not only motivate people from their era but these leaders also inspire generations to come. This is to about all the iconic leaders India had for years together. The national festivals such as independence and republic day are celebrated in the campus with pride and joy. Leaders like late Dr. A P J Kalam, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Dr. B R Ambedkar are fondly remembered in the form of reading hour, Ekata Divas and Samvidhan Divas. Criterion 7 Institutional Values and Best Practices

Metric 7.1.18

Great leaders not only motivate people from their era but these leaders also inspire

generations to come. This is to about all the iconic leaders India had for years together.

The national festivals such as independence and republic day are celebrated in the

campus with pride and joy.

Leaders like late Dr. A P J Kalam, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Dr. B R Ambedkar are

fondly remembered in the form of reading hour, Ekata Divas and Samvidhan Divas.

The days celebrated are as follows,

National festival of Independence Day and Republic day

Celebration of memories of great leaders like Dr.A.P.J. Kalam, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel,

Dr. B.R.Ambedkar etc.

Late Dr.Kalam’s memories are organized through programs such as Reading Hour

Sardar Patel is remembered with Ekta divas.

Dr. Ambedkar fondly remembered through Samvidhan Diwas

GURUPOURNIMA CELEBRATION 27TH JULY 2018

Coordinators: All VIIT students’

Target Participants: All students and staff members of VIIT

No. of Participants: 100

Venue: Class 4

Time & Duration: 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM

Objective: To celebrate Gurupournima event.

Outcome(s): VIIT students’ celebrated Guru Purnima on 31st July 2015 in VIIT campus.

MCA and MBA students had organized program for all VIIT’s staff at Class room no 5.

All staffs were felicitated by offering rose by the students. Program began with Student’s

speech on Guru Purnima with utterly devotion to teachers. Then from the faculty

members, Dr. Sateeshchandra Joshi and Dr. Santosh Parakh enlightened the session by

giving speech. Some more students and other staff members also shared their thoughts on

same.

Conclusion: Students share their thoughts about the importance of Guru in their life.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION 15TH AUGUST 2018

TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION 5TH SEPTEMBER 2018

Coordinator(s): All the students of VIIT

Target Participants: All the Teaching Staff, Administrative Staff and Students of VIIT.

Venue: VIIT Auditorium

Time & Duration: 10.30am to 01.00 pm.

Objective: Felicitation of VIIT Staff for their unconditional contribution for the students

and Institute Development.

Outcome(s): MBA & MCA students shown their affiliation towards Institute Staff as their

Mentor for the development.

READING HOUR- LATE APJ ABDUL KALAM

JAYANTI- MBA 15-OCT-18

Reading Hour was organized at 11.30 a.m. to pay tribute to the memory of Ex-President of India

Late Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, His book on Insights to the life as well as a book by Dr.Robin Sharma

was read by the students’ representatives viz. Ms Snehal Patil, Ms.Priyanka Patil and Ms.Nisha

Agarwal to the classroom colleagues. This program was organized at Library.

READING HOUR- LATE APJ ABDUL KALAM

JAYANTI- MCA 15-OCT-18

Reading Hour was organized at 12.30 p.m.to pay tribute to the memory of Ex-President of India

Late Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, His books such as Wings of fire, Insights to the life were read by the

students’ representative to the classroom colleauges. This program was organized at Library.

Reading Hour was organized to pay tribute to the memory of Ex-President of India Late Dr.A.P.J.

Abdul Kalam, Two books were read by 1. Mr.Mayank Kothawade- “Vyakti and Valli by

Mr.P.L.Deshpande” and 2. Ms.Kalpana Nagthane- “Boardroom by Mr.Achyut Godbole”. This

program was organized at Conference room at 4 p.m.

EKTA DIVAS- CELEBRATION OF SARDAR

PATEL JAYANTI 31-OCT-18

Oath of Unity was given to the students on the Occasion by Dr.Sateeshchandra Joshi at 11 a.m. MBA &

MCA students were present during the celebration of Ekta Divas to mark the birth anniversary of Late

Sardar Vallabhbai Patel.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 21 JUNE 2019

International Yoga Day was celebrated at the Institute Campus. Teaching and Non-teaching Staff

participated in the program. Dr.Joshi, Incharge Director gave a brief of need and importance of Yoga. All

the staff did yoga exercise for mental and spiritual health. Exercises included Vrukshasan, AnulumVilom,

Bhasrika, Bhramari, Baddhpadmasan etc. The team also enjoyed Hasya Yoga.

All of them chanted Om. And every one concentrated on Breathing.

TIme & Duration: 7.30-10.00 am.

Guest: Adv. Ashok Prabhune, Mr. Rajiv Shah,Mrs. Gujar and Mrs. Sunetratai Pawar

Objective: Flag hoisting. To recall the memories of freedom fighters and their contribution

in getting freedom as well as to exhort the people to unite with a sense of purpose and

nation building. Students went to the Ceremony Ground in a rally displaying the message

of “Supporting Indian Soldiers.”

Guest speaks: Highlighted on the growth of the country and the achievements by the

Indians in various spheres of life.

Conclusion: The program concluded with tea served to all the participants.

SARDAR PATEL JAYANTI- UNITY DAY 31ST OCTOBER 2017

Sardar Patel Jayanti was celebrated in the campus. Students remembered the gallent

contribution of Sardar Patel in building our Nation.

Students also took pledge no to be succumbed by the bad and injurious vices, corrupt

practices and so on.

The celebration was a lesson to be learnt by one and all.

DR.AMBEDKAR’S JAYANTI

14TH APRIL 2018

Dr. Ambedkar’s Jayanti was celebrated at VIIT. Staff members came to the Campus and

garlanded the Photo Frame of Dr.Ambedkar.

Floral tributes were offered to the memories of the architect of Indian Constitution.

purpose and nation building.

Guest speaks: Highlighted on the growth of the country and the achievements by the

Indian players in Rio-Olympic.

Conclusion: The program concluded with tea served to all the participants.

RAKSHABANDHAN

18TH AUGUST 2016

Target Participants: Socially deprived students

Venue: Orphan School, Jalochi and Residential Deaf

& Dumb School, Karhagaj

Time & Duration: 9.00 am to 01.00 pm – 4 Hrs.

Objective(s): To involve socially deprived students

and to create bonding amongst them.

Participant speaks: Students expressed their

emotions and felt satisfaction in sharing joy, tying

rakhi, sweet distribution and games.

Outcome(s): The entire activity was initiated by the

students. They budgeted, contributed and visited at

two places. Students learnt about planning and

organizing of a social event.

Conclusion: Students

developed social connect and

understood the objectives of

these schools.

CONSTITUTION DAY CELEBRATION 26TH NOVEMBER 2016.

Venue: VIIT Auditorium, Baramati

Time & Duration: 11.00 a.m.

Objective(s): To commemorate and to

resolve to hold high the principles enshrined

by the Constitution. To appreciate and

salute the efforts of the Constitution

Committee led by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Outcome(s): All the students and faculty members wholeheartedly participated in the

programme. Representative students and faculty members expressed their thoughts.

Conclusion: It was a memorable event. It was eventually 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr.

Ambedkar. The students and the faculty members reiterated the faith in the text, contents

and implied thoughts expressed in the Constitution.

CELEBRATION OF SHIV JAYANTI

19TH FEBRUARY 2017.

Shiv Jayanti is celebrated on 19th February in

Maharashtra to commemorate the birth anniversary of

the great Maratha warrior Shivaji Maharaj.

Shivaji was founder of Maratha Empire and his

military and civil administration was of greatest

important in Konkan region. He was a king not only in

Maharashtra but also in India.

Shiv Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Shivaji Maharaj,

was celebrated with traditional fervor in VIIT on

Tuesday 19th February, 2016. The Maharashtra state

celebrates 389th birth annivesary of the leader.

In VIIT, Dr. Amol C. Goje, Director paid

floral tributes to Chhatrapati Shivaji

Maharaj.

All the staff members and students were

present for this gracious occasion.

INTRANATIONAL YOGA DAY 21ST JUNE 2017

Time & Duration: 8.00 am. To 9.00

Objective(s): 1. To create awareness

about yoga and perform simple yoga

exercises. 2. To celebrate

international yoga day

Outcome(s): All the participants

perform yoga exercises and enjoyed

the celebration of international yoga

day. They had refreshing experience.

TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION 5TH SEPTEMBER 2014

Teachers’ day was celebrated by the students in the memory of late Dr. Sarvapalli

Radhakrishnan. Students engaged all the teaching sessions. \It was a befitting tribute to the

teachers they learn from. It was indeed a very warm gesture on the part of students to show their

profound respect to the teaching fraternity.

OATH FOR CLEANLINESS 2ND OCTOBER 2014

n oath for cleanliness was given to the students and faculties of VIIT by the Director Dr.

A. C. Goje. It was resolved that everyone pledges to keep his/her/their surrounding clean

and healthy.

RUN FOR UNITY (EKTA DAUD) 31ST OCTOBER 2014

o celebrate the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Run for Unity (Ekta

Daud) was organized at our Campus. Students and staff members actively participated.

Sardar Patel’s contribution to Nation Building was elaborated to the students and faculty

members by Dr. Sateeshchandra Joshi.

Need to remember his efforts and contribution was also stressed. Students and staff members

resolved to keep the country’s unity to be top priority.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 9TH MARCH 2015

celebrated International Women’s Day on 9th March, 2015 wherein there

was massive participation from management girl students, lady faculties’

as well administrative staff. A special programme inaugurated by the

auspicious hands of Mrs. Ashwini Shendge, Police Sub Inspector.

The programme was full of motivational speeches, opening of women’s grievance website and

‘Hirkani’ magazine. The programme ended with musical chair game and other fun activities.
