Self-priming principe
• The pump casing is specific and contains two internal chambers.
• Phase A : The impeller rotates in the priming chamber, which remains always filled with liquid. It creates the
vacuum required for the suction of the air contained in the suction pipe.
• Phase B : An air/liquid mixture is created and transferred in the separation chamber, where the air is
separated from the liquid, which falls by gravity into the priming chamber.
• Phase C : Once the suction pipe is completely filled with liquid, the pump behaves as a conventional
centrifugal pump.
• The upper position of the suction port and the integrated non return valve make it possible to always keep
the liquid inside the pump. Even after long stopped periods, the pump can start a new priming cycle without
need of refilling.

Impellers and Wear plates
• Impellers free passage : about ½ of the pump DN (depending on sizes)
• Wear plates can be changed once worn (useful for abrasive applications)

• Provided with all Wilo-Drain SP
• Less warming during priming phases
• The spread fluid is a special hydrophobic neutral grease
• An electronic system provides a constant flow in during 1 year

Zinc Anode
• Wilo-Drain SP is available in Cast Iron with a Zinc Anode
• Special construction for SEA WATER
• More economic than compete pump in Stainless Steel or Bronze
• Zinc Anode has to be changed after a various time
(between few months and a year, depending
mostly of sea water temperature and salinity)
