The goal of counseling is to help individuals overcome their immediate problems and equip them to meet future problems by understanding their behavior, motivations and feelings.

We have come to a conclusion that different areas of counseling need different types of counseling and hence we are concern with the counseling of human beings.

HR manager as counselor you need development in SENSITIVITY, EMPATHY and BEHAVIOUR.

SENSITIVITY:

Sensitivity Training is a form of training that claims to make people more aware of their own prejudices, and more sensitive to others. It involves the use of psychological techniques with groups that are often identical to

brainwashing tactics. Critics believe these techniques are unethical.

The nature of modern Sensitivity Training appears to be in some dispute. Its modern critics portray its origins and function in negative terms. Others view the approach as benignly beneficial in many of its historical and contemporary implantations.

Meanwhile, Training Groups or T-Groups were being developed at the National Training Labs, now part of the National Education Association. Over time the techniques of T-Groups and Encounter Groups have merged and divided and splintered into specialized topics, seeking to promote sensitivity to others perceived as different and seemingly losing some of their original focus on self-exploration as a means to understanding and improving relations with others in a more general sense.

EMPATHY:

Empathizing, or feeling what someone else is feeling, is a matter of using your imagination or past to inhabit another person's experience. Empathy is not something you either have or you don't; being placed in circumstances where you are required to produce some evidence of empathy can cultivate your capacity for it. Mental health professionals, as well as individuals who regularly deal with people, use empathy training as a way of building interpersonal skills.

BEHAVIOURAL:

Human behavior is influenced by Personality & Situation.

The interaction between personality & situation is behavior.

How one perceives a situation is a critical factor of behavior.

OTHER ATTRIBUTES:
