Founded in 1995, this growing regional and community planning, development and engagement companyis based out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. With roots firmly planted in Western Canada, PW was formed inresponse to local needs identified in the areas of: community and regional development, comprehensiveland use planning, heritage and cultural planning, policy development, local governance, and citizenparticipation strategies and processes.

PW has led and participated in significant international, national, provincial and local based planning anddevelopment projects. We have been provided several unique opportunities to participate in and facilitatecommunity planning and development on multiple levels – from contributing to the development of newplanning legislation for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, to developing a state of the art report ondemocratic engagement for the Institute of Wellbeing, to working with various Enterprise Regions todevelop regional-based community planning programs and directly with municipalities and regions acrossSaskatchewan to develop their District/Official Community Plans and related bylaws where requested. Wealso work with numerous community based organizations on various action plans and capacity buildinginitiatives.

We have been internationally, nationally and locally recognized for our work. We have presented our workto numerous national and international organizations including: the Canadian Institute of Planners,Federation of Canadian Municipalities, the World Urban Forum, and the Canadian Commission forUNESCO.

The Canadian Commission for UNESCO is keenly observing our regional planning process beingundertaken in the internationally designated Redberry Lake Biosphere Reserve – with a focus on cultural,environmental, social and environmental development. Additionally, principal partners in our firm havereceived independent awards and accolades for work done through or related to PW including top womanbusiness person of the year for Saskatoon through the Athena Awards and the Federation of CanadianMunicipalities for work done in the area of local area planning.
