Abdul-Muttalib• Undeniable Noble Family Lineage• Abu Sufyan said, Caesar's messenger found us somewhere in Sham so he took me and my

companions to Ilya and we were admitted into Caesar's court, He said to his translator. 'Ask them who amongst them is a close relation to the man who claims to be a prophet." Abu Sufyan added, "I replied, 'I am the nearest relative to him…. He then said to his translator, 'Ask him what kind of family does he belong to.' I replied, 'He belongs to a noble family amongst us.

• Caesar said to his translator, 'Say to him: I ask you about his lineage and your reply was that he belonged to a noble family. In fact, all the apostles came from the noblest lineage of their nations. (Al-Bukhari)

قال : ثم ، كتفي عند خلفظهري فجعلوا بأصحابي وأمر ، أدنوه قيصر فقال ، غيريكذب : : فإن ، نبي أنه يزعم الذي عن الرجل هذا سائل إني ألصحابه قل لترجمانه

: ، الكذب عني أصحابي يأثر أن من ، يومئذ الحياء لوال والله سفيان أبو قال ، فكذبوهقال ثم ، فصدقته عني الكذب يأثروا أن استحييت ولكني ، عنه سألني حين لكذبته

Nobility of Lineage

– Negates the Prophet’s need to elevate himself socially by claiming that he is a Messenger.

– Arabs respected Noble Lineage and it helps people to listen to his call.

Death of Abdullah

– Died while on a trip to Shaam (Levant) or Yathrib, at the age of 25.

– Buried in Yathrib (Madina)

– Aaminah was pregnant.

– Left as inheritance 5 Camels and a Servant named Barakah, Umm Ayman.

• Narrated Jubair bin Mutim: • Allah's Apostle said, "I have five names: I am Muhammad and Ahmad; I

am Al-Mahi through whom Allah will eliminate infidelity; I am Al-Hasher who will be the first to be resurrected, the people being resurrected there after; and I am also Al-'Aqib (i.e. There will be no prophet after me)."

The Orphan

• Anas b. Malik reported that Gabriel came to the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upo him) while he was playing with his playmates. He took hold of him and lay him prostrate on the ground and tore open his breast and took out the heart from it and then extracted a blood-clot out of it and said: That was the part of Satan in thee. And then he washed it with the water of Zamzam in a golden basin and then it was joined together and restored to it place. The boys came running to his mother, i. e. his nurse, and said: Verily Muhammad has been murdered. They all rushed toward him (and found him all right) His color was changed, Anas said. I myself saw the marks of needle on his breast. (Muslim)

The Shepherd

• Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah (Al-Bukhari and Muslim): • We were with Allah's Apostle collecting Al-Kabath

at Mar-Az-Zahran. The Prophet said, "Collect the black ones, for they are better." Somebody said, (O Allah's Apostle!) Have you ever shepherded sheep?" He said, "There has been no prophet but has shepherded them. "

The Shepherd

• Narrated Abu Huraira (Al-Bukhari): • The Prophet said, "Allah did not send any prophet

but shepherded sheep." His companions asked him, "Did you do the same?" The Prophet replied, "Yes, I used to shepherd the sheep of the people of Mecca for some Qirats."

يعصمني • كلتيهما ، الدهر من مرتين إال به يهمون الجاهلية أهل كان مما بقبيح هممت ماألهله – – أغنام في مكة بأعلى قريش من معي كان لفتى ليلة قلت ، منهما تعالى الله

: : ، نعم قال ، الفتيان يسمر كما بمكة الليلة هذه أسمر حتى غنمي إلى أبصر يرعاهافقلت ] [ : ومزامير دفوف وضرب غناء سمعت ، مكة دور من دار أدنى فجئت فخرجت

فلهوت ! : ، قريش من امرأة تزوج قريش من لرجل ، فالنة تزوج فالن قالوا ؟ هذا ماإلى فرجعت الشمس مس إال أيقظني فما ، عيني غلبتني حتى الصوت وبذلك الغناء بذلك

فخرجت : ، ففعل ذلك مثل أخرى ليلة له قلت ثم ، فأخبرته ؟ فعلت ما قال صاحبي ، عيني غلبتني حتى سمعت بما فلهوت ، لي قيل ما مثل لي فقيل ذلكن مثل فسمعت

فعلت : : ما قلت ؟ فعلت ما فقال صاحبي إلى رجعت ثم ، الشمس مس إال أيقظني فمايعمل : مما بسوء بعدها هممت ما فوالله وسلم عليه الله صلى الله رسول قال ، شيئا

The Trip to Shaam• Accompanied Abu Talib in a commercial caravan to Shaam.• The story of Bahira, The Monk.

فلما • قريش من أشياخ في وسلم عليه الله صلى الله رسول ومعه الشام إلى طالب أبو خرجذلك قبل وكانوا الراهب إليهم فخرج رحالهم فحلوا هبطوا بحيرى يعني الراهب على أشرفوا

فأخذ جاء حتى يتخللهم فجعل رحالهم يحلون وهم فنزل قال إليهم يلتفت وال يخرج فال به يمرونرب رسول هذا زيادة البيهقي رواية وفي العالمين سيد هذا فقال وسلم عليه الله صلى النبي بيدأشرفتم حين إنكم فقال علمك وما قريش من أشياخ له فقال للعالمين رحمة الله بعثه العالمين

النبوة بخاتم أعرفه وإني لنبي إال يسجدون وال ساجدا خر إال حجر وال شجرة يبق لم العقبة منفقال اإلبل رعية في هو وكان به أتاهم فلما طعاما لهم فصنع رجع ثم كتفه غضروف من أسفل

من دنا فلما غمامة عليه إليه انظروا قال القوم من دنا فلما تظله وغمامة فأقبل إليه أرسلواإلى انظروا قال عليه الشجرة فيء مال جلس فلما الشجرة فيء إلى سبقوه قد وجدهم القوم

فإن الروم إلى به يذهبوا أال ينشدهم وهو عليهم قائم هو فبينما قال عليه مال الشجرة فيءقال أقبلوا قد الروم من نفر بسبعة هو فإذا فالتفت فقتلوه بالصفة عرفوه رأوه إن الروم

بعث إال طريق يبق فلم الشهر هذا في خارج النبي هذا أن جئنا قالوا بكم جاء ما فقال فاستقبلهمإنما ال قالوا منكم خير هو أحد خلفكم فهل قال هذه طريقك إلى خبره أخبرنا وإنا ناس إليه

الناس من أحد يستطيع هل يقضيه أن الله أراد أمرا أفرأيتم قال هذه طريقك إلى خبره أخبرناأبو قالوا وليه أيكم الله أنشدكم الراهب فقال قال عنده معه وأقاموا فبايعوه قال ال فقالوا رده

والزيت الكعك من الراهب وزوده بالال بكر أبو معه وبعث رده حتى يناشده يزل فلم طالب  :  -  : كثير:  -  ابن المحدث غرابة فيه الدرجة خالصة األشعري موسى أبو الراوي

أبا • سأل فلما ، كتفيه وبين وجهه في النبوة معالم ورأى فيه تفرس الذي بحيرا ، بالراهب التقاؤهأخي : : : ! : ابن فإنه قال حيا أبوه يكون أن ينبغي ما قال ، ابني قال ؟ منك الغالم هذا ما طالب

يهود . . عليه واحذر بلدك إلى به ارجع ، صدقت قال به حبلى وأمه أبوه مات  :  -  : األلباني:  -  المحدث صحيح الدرجة خالصة األشعري موسى أبو الراوي

The War of Al-Fijar

• “Al-Fijar” means violations of Sanctity• War between Qays ‘Ailaan (Hawazen, Ghatafan,

Thaqif) and Quraysh• Violations of the Sanctuary of Mecca and The Sacred

months• Reported that Prophet helped his uncles if collecting

arrows• Exposed to the strategies of combat fighting• 15-20 years old

The Treaty of Noblemen

• “Hilf al Fudhool”: The Treaty of Nobelmen– Al-’Aas bin Wa’el (Father of Amr bin Al-’Aas) refused to

pay for merchendise of a stranger in Mecca who had no protection.

– Hashem, Asad, and Zuhra vowed to be on the side of Justice and Fairness and to defend the weak in Mecca regardless of tribal loyalties.

The Merchant

• The Truthful, The Trustworthy.

• Khadijah bint Khuwayled entrusted him with her trade to Shaam accompanied by her servant Maysarah

• Muhammad’s honesty, noble character and good manners was reported to Khadijah.

Khadijah

• Khadijah was a widow of honor and wealth in Quraysh from the tribe of Asad.

• Married twice:– Atiq bin ‘Aabed Al-Makhzumi– Abu Halah bin Al-Nabbash (Son: Hind bin

Abi Halah)

• Many proposed to Khadijah after that but she declined.

Marriage to Khadijah

• Khadijah proposed to Muhammad through her friend Nafisah.

• Muhammad proposed through his uncles Hamza and Abu Talib.

• They married two moths after his return from Shaam trip.

• Dowry of 20 camels.• The Prophet was 25 years old and Khadijah

was 40 years old.

The Message

"Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (Scriptures) - in the Torah and the Gospel - for he commands them what is just and forbids them what is evil; he allows them as lawful what is good (and pure) and prohibits them from what is bad (and impure); he releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that are upon them. So it is those who believe in him, honor him, help him, and follow the Light which is sent down with him, it is they who will prosper."

• Narrated 'Aisha: • The commencement of the Divine Inspiration to Allah's Apostle was in the

form of good dreams which came true like bright day light, and then the love of seclusion was bestowed upon him. He used to go in seclusion in the cave of Hira where he used to worship (Allah alone) continuously for many days before his desire to see his family. He used to take with him the journey food for the stay and then come back to (his wife) Khadija to take his food like-wise again till suddenly the Truth descended upon him while he was in the cave of Hira.
