We are a diverse community of people alwayslearning what it means to live a life of

discipleship. We are Lutheran (ELCA); we are Republican, Democrat, and Independent; we live across the street, around the corner,

in the Hartford area, and in the nearby countryside. We work in schools, factories,

offices, fields, and hospitals. We are laborers, students, retired, and unemployed. We range

in age from the newly born to seniors. We come from backgrounds of Catholic and

Protestant while some are discovering church for the first time.

We come together with our joys and sorrows, our faith, and our doubts. When we worship

together, sing together, study the Bible together, fellowship together – we love and

support one another to become one body of Christ.

Seeds of Ministry

In today's psalm for the psalmist, the storm is a symbol not of the power of nature, but rather of the power and sovereignty of Israel’s God. Seven,

the number of completeness, is significant. Israel’s God is completely powerful and ultimately

sovereign. There can be no competing claims. As we as humans think of the things to which we

often attribute our blessedness and well-being -- technological progress, the stock market, a

capitalist economy, our own ingenuity and hard work and so many of the accomplishments of

man what a difference might it make torecognize and celebrate God as the ultimate

sovereign and origin of life and all that sustains it. Do we? Do we enough? Do we at all?

The Redeemer Fish Fry Group will be going to Iron Ridge Inn on Friday, June 1st . Please call BarbMenden so we know how many reservations to make. Please meet at 5:15 p.m. in the upper church parking lot if you would like to car pool. If you need to be picked up at your home, please call BarbMenden at 670-8524.

Redeemer Backpacks for the

Boys & Girls Club

This project is sponsored by the RedeemerWomen’s Ministry Team. Our goal is to provide food (breakfast, lunch, and a snack)to kids in need. Pick a tag off the Giving Tree and please bring your donations andplace in the baskets by the Giving Tree. We could use additional soups, individualsmall boxes of cereal, Mac & Cheese, andpudding cups. Monetary donations will also be accepted. We also need volunteers to help pack the backpacks.

The Hartford Lions has two magnifying readers such as the example below that they would gladly give out to any person that needs something like this to read magazines, write/read letters, do their check book or similar activities. No charge. Reader goes back to the Lions when no longer needed. It is easy to use. First come, first served. Call Don Horen 673-6905.
