Wickedness is real. You may have noticed that dark entities seem to thrive

in this part of our world. But even more real is the power of God that is available to every believer. Now to walk in this realm of power is a matter of necessity for everyone if we can influence the world in these last days. To walk in this power, we need to literally catch the Fire of God!

HEAR THE WORDThe first secret to catch the fire is to get the Word of God into your life.

Hebrews 11:8By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

The life of Abraham can teach you great lessons on leaving your marks in the sands of time no matter the type of personality you have or where you started life from. You can learn to hear, believe, and follow in obedience like Abraham did.

You see, God is committed to what he has said and not to what you presume. The journey to leave your marks in the sands of time begins with hearing. The scripture reveals very clearly that because of the lack of knowledge the people of God perish. Hearing by the word of God will enable you to know what things are freely given to you. The word of God is his covenant with you.

Knowing what things are freely given to you would enable you to focus your thoughts and efforts so that you can leave a great mark in the sands of time. Abraham would never have gone out in obediance unless

he knew that there was a land he could receive for an inheritance as God had said. What you are hearing every day is so important. They are the seeds that plant and fruit in your life.

Romans 10:14-15(14) How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? (15) And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Hearing right is about the most important thing in life. Our lives are much like bare fields and words thrown into the world are as seeds that could implant in these fields. In the parable of the sower who went out to sow the Lord Jesus shows very clearly that though not all men can leave their marks in the sands of time, all who are careful about what they hear can make and leave a mark. (See Luke 8:10-18)

HEARING FROM GOD-SENT PREACHERSIn hearing by the word of God we must discover and interact with a sower. It is safe to hear from God-sent preachers 1. Don’t feed from dogs2. Don’t feed from evil workers3. Don’t feed from the concision There are three types of preachers: 1. Those who are sent by God,2. Those who are sent by Satan, and 3. Many others who are sent by their own bellies

As a statement truth no man speaking by the spirit of God calls Jesus accursed. In any case sometimes even the agents of darkness can masquerade as agents

of light. Much like those sent by the devil are the second class of false preachers and false Christians; these are people whose God is their belly. These folk prophesy for gain and teach for a reward.

True preachers and apostles of Christ preach to the effect that all men must repent towards God and have faith in Jesus Christ.

These are those who esteem the preaching of the cross of Christ and the gospel as the power of God to save. They do not go about establishing their own righteousness and empires but manifest themselves as the servants of Christ hold the mystery of faith in a pure conscience. In discerning the sprit behind the preacher you must engage your perceptive ability. The good Lord will guide you by His Holy Spirit. The Shunamite said to her husband; I perceive that this is a holy man of God

2 Kings 4:8-10(8) And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.(9) And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.(10) Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.

1 Corinthians 12:3(3) Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

2 Corinthians 11:13-15(13) For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.(14) And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.(15) Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Philippians 3:18-19(18) (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:(19) Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

ADMIRE THE PREACHERHold your preacher, pastor and those who feed you in awe, holding them in high esteem. This must not be done under compulsion but in love.

1Thessalonians 5:12-13(12) And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;(13) And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves

FOLLOW THE PREACHER - OBSERVE, THINK, AND STUDY THE THEME OF THE MESSAGE. Casual browsers do not get much. Follow the teaching and observe the mannerisms of the preacher. Follow the faith of those who preach the Word of God to you. Desire and aspire to look like your preacher and teacher.

Hebrews 13:7-9(7) Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.(8) Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.(9) Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

Endeavor not to be carried about by every wind of doctrine. Let your heart be settled and established with grace. Many people run around everywhere in a quest to prosper but you cannot fast-forward time. You just need to be established with grace.LISTEN WITH AN OPEN MINDRelease yourself to receive. Allow yourself to be blessed. You might know so much about the man but drop your guards and let him bless you. Unless you can listen with an open mind you cannot hear enough.

Acts 17:11-12(11) These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.(12) Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.

It is nobility to listen and listen with an open mind. That is why it is important to do your initial checks on who sent your preacher. Once you are sure of who sent your preacher listen to him or her with an open mind. That is why you are admonished to lay apart malice, guile and hypocrisy so that we can desire and crave the sincere milk of the Word.

1 Peter 2:1-3(1) Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,(2) As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may

grow thereby: (3) If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

LISTEN TO UNDERSTANDYou cannot believe what you don’t understand, in the true sense of believing. It takes real understanding to build faith. Many people are unable to believe because they just don’t understand.

Matthew 13:19(19) When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

The birds of the air will eat the seeds of your faith through your lack of understanding.

SAY ‘AMEN’ AT EVERY BLESSING AND GIVING OF THANKSAmen is a spiritual word. By the saying of Amen, you concur that what was spoken should be established.

1 Corinthians 14:14-17(14) For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.(15) What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.(16) Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he

understandeth not what thou sayest?

TAKE NOTES AND READ ALL SCRIPTURE REFERENCES IN THE MEETING. Beware of preachers who seldom quote the scriptures. Experience is good, prophecy is better, but the scriptures are supreme.

Jeremiah 30:2Thus speaketh the LORD God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.

SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES DAILY TO ESTABLISH THAT WHAT THE PREACHER SAID IS AS IT IS WRITTEN. Have regular devotional time. This would help tune your heart and immerse your mind in the truth of scripture.

Acts 17:11-12(11) These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.(12) Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.

PRAY THAT THE LORD WOULD ENLIGHTEN YOUR UNDERSTANDING

TO SEE THE GLORIOUS LIGHT IN THE MESSAGE There are times when you do not hear effectively because the prince of this age blinds your understanding. (See 2 Corinthians 4:1-7)

AFTER YOU HAVE PROVEN THAT WHAT THE PREACHER SAID IS TRUE, HOLD ON TO IT Prove everything you hear and hold fast to that which is good. There is the danger of losing it, so hold fast to it quickly. Unless the Lord enlightens you many of the true revelations would elude you.

1 Thessalonians 5:19-22(19) Quench not the Spirit. (20) Despise not prophesyings. (21) Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. (22) Abstain from all appearance of evil.

PERSISTENTLY LISTEN UNTIL YOU KNOW, OTHERS KNOW, AND THE DEVIL KNOWS YOU HAVE BEEN ANOINTED. Listen to the same preacher and message again and again until you use certain phrases and points in normal conversation.

Listen to get:The word content of the messageListen until you can both reproduce the same message as well as preach several messages from that one message.

The spirit content of the message

Listen until you pick up the character, zeal and emotions that can only be decerned in the message.

The style content of the messageListen until you can imitate the volume and density variations in the voice of the preacher.

Share what you learned with others. Well it is that simple. The liberal soul shall be made fat. The more you share the more you know. Indeed the liberal soul shall be made fat.

2 Timothy 2:2And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

RECEIVING THE WORDAdmittedly, it is one thing to hear the Word and another ball game altogether to receive the Word. Not everybody who hears the word of God can receive it as the Word of God. Many a times, most believers are unable to receive the word as the word of God. In any case as many as gladly receive the word were baptized and added to the number. Determine to receive the word of God today.

Acts 2:39-41(39) For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. (40) And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.(41) Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

The reason why you need to receive the Word

Page 5: SEED FOR TODAY by REV. SIMPE BEDIAKO

of God is because it is the engrafted word that saves the soul.

James 1:21-23(21) Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. (22) But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. (23) For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

Nothing saves more than receiving the engrafted word after you lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness. You must receive the engrafted word if you want to leave your marks in the Sands of Time.

The Word of God is like a glass that reveals four things:1. How you look2. What you can be3. How you can become it4. Why you should become it

James 1:23-25(23) For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: (24) For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. (25) But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Whenever we look into the law of liberty we gain understanding into what we are and then become responsible to walk in that revelation.

There are Six helpful steps to receive the Word:

1. PURGELay apart all filthiness superfluity of naughtiness and receive with meekness (See James 1:21-23). Lay aside all malice, all guile, and all hypocrisy and all envies, and all evil speakings and receive with craving

1 Peter 2:1-3(1) Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, (2) As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: (3) If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

2. ACCEPT THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE GLASS.1 Timthy 1:8

(8) But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

In fact the law is spiritual, holy, good and perfect if you use it lawfully. You must accept that you look just like what the Word says you look. The Word reveals to you perfectly your bone and marrow, spirit and soul, the intents of your heart and makes all things naked.

Hebrews 4:12-13(12) For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (13) Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

Sometimes certain glasses distort how you look but the word of God does not. Whenever the word of God reveals you to you, you do not need a second opinion.

The first point of breakthrough is the courage to agree that how you see yourself in the word is exactly what you look. Apostle Paul found redemption and breakthrough the very moment he consented that the law is good, holy and spiritual. He discovered that the word of God cannot lie: indeed he was a wretched man. Even though the word of God revealed that he was a wretched man he did not sink into condemnation; rather he was awakened to his need for a redeemer (See Romans 7:12-25)

3. BELIEVE YOU CAN BECOME WHAT THE WORD SAYS YOU CAN BECOMEHebrews 4:1-3

(1) Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. (2) For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. (3) For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

4. LET THE WORD OF GOD RENEW YOUR THINKING

Page 6: SEED FOR TODAY by REV. SIMPE BEDIAKO

6 | SEED FOR TODAY | MARCH, 2014

Unless the word of God renews your thinking, you will soon conform to the pattern of the world.

When the Word of God renews your mind, then you may know and prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.

Romans 12:2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

When the word renews your thinking, your actions will be renewed too.

Proverbs 23:7For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

The word of God renewing your mind helps your thought pattern to grow as you grow. As a person grows, he or she must willfully shift in their thought pattern. (See 1 Corithians 13:9-12). You must wear a new thinking that is formed in the knowledge after the image of Him that created him.

Colossians 3:10And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

5. PUT NEW ACTIONS BEHIND YOUR FAITHDo this for two simple reasons:Faith without works is dead (See James 2:17-26). If you do not act on your faith, you will soon forget what you believe (See also James 1:21-27).

6. KEEP LOOKING INTO THE GLASS You will be changed into what you see. The same glory you see in the glass rubs on you. (See 2 Corinthians 3:1-18)

BELIEVING THE WORDFaith is the supreme key to possibilities. In fact what you believe is as a result of what and how you hear moment by moment. The things you hear daily shape your belief system (See Galatians 3:8-14)

Galatians 3:22But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

If you do not know

as your Savior and Lord, simply pray the following prayer in faith,

and Jesus will be your Lord!

Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. Your Word says, “Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” and “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and

thou shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved”

(Acts 2:21; Romans 10:9). You said my salvation will be the

result of Holy Spirit giving me new birth by coming to live in

me (John 3:5-6, 15-16; Romans 8:9-11) and that if I would ask,

You would fill me with Your Spirit and give me the ability to speak with other tongues (Luke

11:13; Acts 2:4)

I take You at Your Word. I confess that Jesus is Lord. And I believe in my heart

that You raised Him from the dead. Thank You for coming into my heart, for giving me your Holy Spirit as You have promised and for being Lord over my

life. Amen.

If you have just prayed this prayer, please contact us and let us know of your decision. Reverend Simpe would like to help you with your

JESUS

Salvation PrayerFaith is the practical expression of one’s trust in the person, promise, and the power of God. Faith is not presumption, but trust in the Word of God.

BE SURE YOU ARE HEARING BY THE WORDHear through the filters of the Word of God.

Romans 10:17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

BE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT THE WORD IS SAYINGUnderstanding is the foundation to believing.

SAY WHAT GOD HAS SAID IN HIS WORD If you can say what God is saying to you then your life should be without covetousness and you must be content with such as you have.

Hebrews 13:5-6(5) Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. (6) So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

FOLLOW THE FAITH OF THOSE WHO PREACH TO YOU. The principle here is the same, because Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever; he would at least do for us what he has done for them.Hebrews 13:7-8

(7) Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. (8) Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Do not be carried away by every wind of doctrine, rather let your heart be established with grace. Often these winds of doctrine are from the sleight cunningness of men who lie in wait to deceive.

Hebrews 13:9Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

COUNT GOD WHO HAS PROMISED FAITHFUL AND ABLEThis is the only secret, the only secret to keep your faith standing even in the face of great adversity. (See Rom 4:16-25)

DEE THE INVISIBLE, HEAR THE UNSAID, AND TOUCH EVEN THE INTANGIBLEOften faith is expressed in being able to see the invisible. Many of the things the word of God promises looks impossible because he calls the things that be not as though they were. You can only believe it if you can take seed and see the invisible.

Hebrews 11:27By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

BE INSPIRED BY THE TESTIMONIES OF OTHERS God knows that as men we may not be able to see the invisible when the going gets tough, He therefore admonishes us to draw consolation from the lives and testimonies of others. A good testimony would not make you impatient and anxious. Anytime you hear a testimony that makes you impatient and anxious, that testimony is either fake or not meant for you. The Bible says be ye followers of those who through faith and patience inherited the promise. Testimonies are meant to inspire patience and comfort, to bring hope, and not anxiety and impatience.(See Romans 15:4-6)

ACT ON THE WORD OF GOD. Indeed when you act contrary to what you claim to believe, you are deceiving your own self. The blessing is in obeying. I believe the world must be saved, and that is why I am preaching. (See James 2:17-26)

BE SPIRITUALLY MINDED. A carnal man cannot accept the Word of God let alone to believe it. The Word of God is spiritually discerned.

1 Corinthians 2:12-15(12) Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. (13) Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. (14) But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (15) But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. SEED
