Hanyang UniversityHanyang University is the successor of DongA Polytechnic Institute, which was established in 1939 as the first engineering college in Korea. Today, Hanyang is home to more than 32,000 students in 24 colleges and 21 graduate schools. To continue its momentum of progress, Hanyang University has been striving to promote internationalization and consequently, over 1,000 courses instructed in English by about 200 foreign professors are offered every sememster. In 2018, more than 2000 students spent 4 weeks in one of Korea's leading private universities. HISS offers world class education combined with a variety of unique cultural experiences. Research ProjectHISS 2019 offers students opportunities to gain experience in our cutting-edge labs by participating in research projects (RP) of vaious fields. Students may choose to particiapte in RP, which last 4-6 weeks intead of enrolling in regular afternoon/evening courses during the HISS program.

Students from non-partner universities, non-active partner universities, as well as active partner universities, may be eligible for various scholarships offered by Hanyang University for HISS 2019.

Students whose parent is a HYU Alumnus or is a full-time faculty or staff member at HYU are elgible for this scholarship.

Students whose cumulative home university‘s GPA is over 95% are eligible for this scholarship.

Hanyang Dormitory

Hanyang offers various types of housing on campus at an additional cost. On-capmus dormitory buildings are divided by gender but are located next to each other. Early check-in or late check-out is unaccepted due to other programs prior and after HISS 2019.

Partner Accommodations

For HISS 2019, we are cooperating with various partner housing providers to help students find appropriate accom-modations that are easy to find and affordable, nearby the campus or the city center. Partner accommodations also offer different roomtype for students to choose from.

Contact the nearest Korean Embassy or Consulate for VISA.Certificate of Admissi-on will be mailed to you for the VISA process.

Your application will be re-viewed within 2 - 3 business days. Payment instructions and guidelines for HISS 2019 will be sent by email.
