UPPER DEERFIELD TWP. — The Upper Deerfield planning board meeting at the municipal building, 1325 Highway 77, at 7 p.m. tonight will feature discussion and public hearing on a solar panel project nearby Love Lane at Old Deerfield Pike.
Millenium Land Development, LLC has applied to install photovoltaic solar panels on a 219.3-acre parcel of
land that has been approved previously for a single-fam-ily housing development.
Since the industrial project is located in a residential zone, the applicant has requested a use variance to develop the Millenium Solar Power Production System at the site, identified as Block 1301, Lot 1 on the town-ship’s tax map.

BRIDGETON — Under growing local pressure, Verizon seems to be responding to the list of complaints brought on by Cumberland County officials.
Freeholder Director Bill Whelan at the board’s July 26 meetings stated a repre-sentative from Verizon visited Cumberland County from Essex County for a week.
In addition, Freeholder Sam Fiocchi
met with officials from the state Board of Public Utilities regarding the issue, while Whelan led a meeting between the county and Verzion on July 20.
“The problem appears to be that it’s just not profitable at this time for Verizon to come down and fix all of the issues that have to be fixed,” said Whelan. “But, like what was said before, the squeaky wheel gets the oil, and we’re now squeaking.
“They have responded — we have to see if they are going to follow through with

VINELAND — Who ties the knot in the midst of a birthday party?
Erin Basile and Michael Valella, that’s who.
As Vineland celebrated its 150th anni-versary with community events, Basile and Valella starred in “It’s a Wonderful Life” — the first wedding at the Landis Theater in its current form.
The two history buffs both teach the sub-ject at Bridgeton High School (BHS) and have an avid interest in film.
“We wanted to do something a little different,” Basile said in the lobby while friends and family flowed around her.
“The lights out on the marquee, that was great,” Valella added.
Their first vacation was to Antietam National Battlefield and were engaged at
