Yes each and every human being was made by God for happiness. The Diocesan Assembly on September 22 is designed to help all of us to celebrate our call
to be happy as disciples of Jesus. For those who are unable to walk in the procession we have made tentative reservations with Dean Transportation for a bus to transport parishioners from St. Jude to and from the Breslin Center on the M.S.U. campus. This opportunity allows you to ride in comfort with friends from the parish and to enjoy NOT having to deal with traffic or find a parking place. In order to reserve the bus we need a commitment from 50 parishioners paid in advance at $20 each. Please print your name, address & phone number on a sheet of paper and attach your payment. You can mail it or bring it to the parish office or put in an envelope in the collection marked attn: Terry Humenik. For more info contact Terry Humenik.
The deadline for registration fir the BUS is July 27 or we will not be able to reserve a bus. Your friends from other parishes are welcome to ride
with us. St. Andrew’s Annual Festival: 1611 W. Oakland, Lansing. Ethnic & American Food and games, Friday, July 20 5pm to 12am to Sunday, July 22 12:30pm to 6pm.

Next Sunday’s Scriptures
A reflection on the readings for
Mass next Sunday, July 15
God chose us in him, before the foundation of the world. God chooses us, despite our failures and shortcomings, to be his disciples. He sends us out into the world, not on our own, but in the companionship of our brothers and sisters in community. He does not leave us to our own devices, but gives power and authority through his name. In the first reading, Amos 7:12-15, Amos was chosen, taken away from his work as a shepherd and a dresser of sycamores, to prophesy to the people of Israel. In writing to the Ephesians, 1:3-14, Paul praises God and reminds his listeners that God chose us in him, before the foundation of the world. In the Gospel, Mark 6:7-13, the now-chosen Twelve are sent out to preach repentance and to bring healing.
Please remember in prayer our parish members and their families that are serving in our armed forces. Kerri, Ma , Richard, Bre , Chandra, Christopher, Stephen, Ma , Vann, Kara, Robert, Tyler, Kyle, Michael,
Joseph, Erin, Ma , Michael, Ryan, Tamara, and Dalton.
Dear God, we pray to give all of our soldiers the courage and strength to do the duty that is required of them. May they always remember our apprecia on for the sacrifice they are making for us. We are
thankful for the men and women who are willing to risk their lives to protect our freedom. We ask you to go with each one of them and protect them wherever they go. Amen

THERE’D BE NO VBS WITHOUT YOU!
No great event happens at the hand of just one person, and this is especially true of St. Jude’s Vacation Bible School! Thank you, Jen West, for not only being the voice of VBS, but also the heart of it! Jen is the MC each day and also runs the Craft Station with Ginny Ramirez. Thank you is not enough for these two. Christine Batora brought Jesus to the children in loving and creative ways in the Faith Station. She blesses our children in so many ways. Patrick Paddock lead the children in VBS and liturgical musical, as well as organized a fantastic finale! We are grateful that you passionately share your gift of music with us! Lynda Roof is Master Chef in the kitchen, along with Sue Schafer. Lynda is keeper of the shopping list, food safety expert, and is generous with her hugs! Thank you for loving us with the heart of Jesus. Ray Taylor was here early everyday to set up cones and unlock doors. He helped set up and break down the Community Center and manned the grill during our cook out along with Jim Roof and Doug Lippert. So much “behind the scenes” work goes unnoticed, but we see you and we are grateful. Many thanks to Phyllis Hunt, Lynna Nieman, Judy Rademacher, and Norma Koleda who cut, glued, stacked and ironed us into being. A HUGE thank you to the City of DeWitt Fire Department who provided the kids with a spray after battling a real fire emergency elsewhere. Your commitment to the kids blew us out of the water. Last, but certainly not least, is Laurie Seybert. Laurie spent months planning and preparing, decorating and organizing this year’s VBS. Laurie’s dedication to the program and to the kids is substantial. You are blessed! You are a blessing. We are thankful. St. Elizabeth Seton Circle meets Tuesday, July 10 at 10am. Meet at the Lady of Fatima Shrine to pray the rosary. Followed by lunch at Family Tree. Questions call Mary Ann 374-0210 or Gladys 669-5857.
