The Corolla Sedan. It’s been around for ages. And here in New Zealand, it’s what we’ve

always driven. Sure it’s changed over the years, from electric windows to hybrid engines.

But it’s a classic, and when a classic works, it just works.

Whether you’re out and about all day with meetings or exploring the city, the Corolla Sedan

is suited for both work and leisure. The combined fuel consumption of 3.5L/100km on the

self-charging hybrid electric variant means more time on the road, and fewer trips to the

petrol station.

Plus, with a 5-star ANCAP safety rating and built-in tech like Satellite Navigation, the Corolla

Sedan ticks all the boxes: Reliable, safe, fuel efficient, sleek.

The Corolla Sedan is available in petrol or self-charging hybrid electric.

The SX petrol features a strong 2-litre petrol engine and is paired with a direct shift

CVT transmission with paddle shifters. And for those who want a bit more power,

a sport drive mode. Furthermore, the SX petrol provides maximum power of 125kW

and 200Nm of torque.

The SX hybrid seamlessly adopts the Corolla Hatch’s 1.8-litre class leading self-charging

hybrid electric powertrain, with a total system output of 90kW and a combined fuel

consumption of 3.5L/100km. The SX hybrid is nothing less than a smart choice.

With front MacPherson strut suspension and new Trailing Wishbone Independent rear

suspension with rear stabiliser bars, both models deliver handling stability and

ride comfort.

Automatic High Beam

Automatic High Beam is designed to help improve forward

visibility when driving at night by making maximum use of

the high beam headlights.

The system uses a camera to detect the headlights and

taillights of vehicles ahead, or bright environments such as

city streets, and automatically switches between high beam

and low beam as required to avoid dazzling other drivers.

All-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control

All-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control helps make driving safer by keeping a

constant pre-set distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead, enabling

you to pay more attention to the road conditions and the vehicles surroundings.

All-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control maintains an adjustable vehicle-to-

vehicle distance by automatically accelerating up to a set speed, decelerating

or stopping your vehicle to match the speed changes of the vehicle ahead

without having to use the accelerator or brakes.

Pre-Collision System with Autonomous Emergency

Braking, and Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection

The Pre-Collision System uses a radar sensor and a camera

to determine whether a frontal collision with another vehicle,

pedestrian or cyclist is imminent. This system has enhanced

low-light capabilities to help detect pedestrians at night, and

the camera and millimetre-wave radar can also detect cyclists

during the day.

If the system detects a frontal collision may occur it will warn

you with an audio and visual alert to urge you to take evasive

action. It then prepares the Brake Assist system to provide

maximum braking assistance, if you do not brake in time it

may also automatically apply the brakes to help you avoid

the collision or reduce the speed of the impact.

Road Sign Assist

Road Sign Assist monitors road speed signs using a camera and then displays the

current speed limit to the driver via the Multi-Information Display. The system can

be configured to provide an audio and/or visual alert if the vehicle speed exceeds

a designated threshold above the posted limit.

Lane Tracing Assist

Lane Tracing Assist is designed to reduce the possibility of an accident due to

your vehicle unintentionally drifting out of its lane. The system recognises visible

white and yellow lane markings and if it detects the possibility of lane departure,

will urge you to steer back into the lane using a warning buzzer and a visual

display. The system can also provide assistance by applying a small force to the

steering wheel for a short time to help the driver keep the vehicle in its lane.
