The Secura Fence System is availablein several gauges of steel and variousmesh sizes and can be used on newconstruction or to add much neededsecurity to existing fence barriers. Thepanels are made from a sheet of steelthat is simultaneously slit and stretchedinto a rigid, open mesh design makingone continuous sheet that cannotunravel at the strands. A nearinpenetratable and unclimbable barriercan be created offering rigidity, durability, strength, visibility, and freepassage of light. When used inconjunction with an electronicsensoring device the Secura FenceSystem provides ample response andreaction time. It is versatile, functional, and readily available in carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

SELECTION

Selection of the appropriate SecuraFence System is keyed primarily to theend use for which it is intended. Thisbrochure is designed to aid your decisionon appropriate size, gauge and style tobest meet your requirements, specifications can be altered accordingly. The following definitions will helpdetermine whether the Retrofit, Maximumor Medium Secura Fence System isrequired.

SECURA FENCE SYSTEMRETROFIT

A perimeter security system expresslydesigned to add protection, strength anddurability to an existing chain link fence, ensuring performance geared to theexpectations for which the fence wasoriginally installed. Retrofitting anexisting fence with Secura Mesh'severely limits the cutting of unwantedholes and passageways, stops intrusionby climb overs and eliminates costly anduntimely fence repairs. Visibility is notseverely obstructed or limited. Thebarrier will not bend, is virtuallyuncuttable, unclimbable and extremelydifficult to penetrate. Special "no access"

fittings cannot be removed fromoutside the barrier. This system isdesigned to be installed directly to theexisting fence utilizing the chain linkfabric and framework already inplace. It is not necessary to removeor take down the old fence leavingvaluable property and sensitivesecurity areas open or unprotected. All gates can be retrofitted withSecura Mesh.

SECURA FENCE SYSTEMMAXIMUM

Designed for use where maximumprotection, strength, and durability isrequired. Provides utmost protectionfor inside and outside projects. Thisinstallation is highly recommended asa perimeter barrier for penalinstitutions, hazardous waste storagesites and nuclear facilities. Used alsoas perimeter fencing for industrialplants, unprotected remote utilitylocations and various transportationloading areas. Ideal for inside use inultra high security areas for storage ofdrugs, tools and high cost inventoryitems.

SECURA FENCE SYSTEM"MEDIUM

Designed for use both inside andoutside where above averagesecurity and limited access is desired.Best for industrial and commercialapplications such as, bonded storagefacilities, parking lots, truck terminals, schools and auto dealerships. It canbe used inside as security partitionsfor tool cribs, calibration equipmentand small goods inventory protection.

Framework SelectionGalvanized Post and Rail:

The Secura Fence System, formaximum and medium security, iserected on galvanized exteriorand interior framework designedspecifically with enough strengthfor the designated system andfabric in use. Standard weightpipe (Sch 40) is available with 1.8oz. zinc coating for installationsper ASTM F 1234 TYPE AEXTERIOR & TYPE A INTERIORor HIGH STRENGTH PIPE(50,000 psi yield strength) isavailable with 1.8 oz. zinc coatingper square foot of sheet

per ASTM A 525, G-210 and alsofollowing specification ASTM F1234 TYPE B EXTERIOR & TYPEB INTERIOR. For adequateperformance at a lower cost, lighter weight all galvanized postand rail not in conformance withASTM or Federal Specifications isavailable for Minimum SecuritySystem.

Fittings and Components:

Galvanized accessories areavailable for all systems. Heavygauge pressed steel or malleableiron fittings providing necessarystrength are used.

Fabric Selection:Selection of the appropriate fabric

for use with the desired Secura FenceSystem requires a brief explanation ofthe descriptive nomenclature.

A. SECURA MESH A finished productas it comes from the press after havingbeen die cut. The strands and bondsform a sharp angle to the original planeof the solid sheet.

B. SQUARENESS - Sheets are squarewithin manufacturing tolerances.Should squareness be critical, sheetscan be square sheared. The maximumtolerance will be 1/16" per ft. of widthafter all four sides of a sheet have beensheared.

C. BOND - The point where adjacentstrands intersect. The bond is alwaystwice the width of the strand.

D. CAMBER - A slight bow which canoccur during manufacturing and resultsin an out-of-square condition.

E. GAUGE or STYLE - The thicknessof metal from which the sheet is made.Usually, but not always, this conformsto manufacturer's standard gauges andis expressed by a number.

F. LWD or LWO - Long way of diamondor long way of opening is the dimensionmeasured across the sheet in adirection parallel to the largestdimension of the diamond.

G. MESH - This is the nominal distancefrom the mid-point of one bond to themid-point of the next bond measuredacross the SWD. Mesh is expressed ininches and normally is diamondshaped.

H. PITCH - The measurement from apoint on one diamond to the same pointon an adjacent diamond.

1. SWD or SWO - Short way ofdiamond or short way of opening is thedimension measured across the sheetin a direction parallel to the smallestdimension of the diamond.

J. STRAND - The single metal stripwhich forms the border of the diamond,or opening. Strand width is the amountof materials advanced for expanding asdifferentiated from strand thicknesswhich is the thickness of metal fromwhich the Secura Mesh is produced.

RETROFIT

Selvage along the top of this 14"portion shall be random sheared. Thefabric can be connected between lineposts by lapping each panel over theadjoining panel a minimum of three (3)diamonds and using Secura BackStraps spaced at 18" maximumintervals. The Secura Mesh fabric willbe connected to the chain link fabric byuse of the diamond clamps spaced atintervals needed to ensure both fabricsfitting tightly. Barbwire, barbed tape ora combination of both can be added tothis system if not already in place.

Framework Selection:

Existing chain link fence framework isto be used. Determination must bemade as to whether existing frameworkwill support the added weight of SecuraMesh. Addition of a bottom rail ortension wire is recommended but maybe deemed unnecessary depending onspecified gauge and mesh size offabric. Bottom rail is to be hot dipgalvanized 1.6 . 60" 0. D. pipe or equalof sufficient weight and wall thicknessto provide security at the bottom of thefence. Bottom rail is to be cut betweenand securely fastened to the postsusing Line Rail Clamps.

Fittings and Components:

The following fittings in various sizesare needed to retrofit an existing chainlink fence: Secura Bands, SecuraClamps, Secura Back Straps, diamond clamps, tension bands, panelclamps, offset rail end cups, Line RailClamps and carriage bolts.

Gates:

Any new or existing gate will becovered with Secura Mesh withoutremoving chain link fabric from thegate. Fabric will fit flush on all sides ofgate frame allowing no open spacebetween fabric and gate frame.Secura Bands spaced 14" maximumwill be used to secure fabric to thegate frame. The fabric with randomsheared selvage can be extended 12"above top of the gate frame in lieu ofbarbwire. Due to added weight thegate may require additional bracing orsupport.

Before Retrofit

SECURA FENCE SYSTEM

FABRIC

Hot dip galvanized, vinyl, or powdercoated metal fence fabricconforming to respective ASTM orFederal Specification of designatedbase material. Use any of theavailable gauges or mesh sizes ascontained in the chart on page 3depending on needed security anddesired visibility.

Fabric Installation -Connections

Any or all of the following steps mustbe followed as needed prior to theinstallation of Secura Mesh to theexisting chain link fence. Straightenand realign the fence posts andchain link fabric. Replace any bentposts. Replace any bent top rail.Remove any weeds, bushes, ortrees growing in the chain link fabricto guarantee a tight fit between thetwo fabrics. Clean any dirt, grass, ordebris from beneath the chain linkfabric to ensure a level finish at topselvage. Retie chain link fabric toframework. Tighten existingbarbwire if applicable or needed. After preliminary steps arecompleted attach Secura Meshfabric to starting terminal post withgalvanized Secura Bands. If thestarting terminal post is a cornerpost, place and align needed bandsfor both directions on the corner postprior to installing fabric. SecuraMesh must be installed flush up tothe terminal post or lapped overone-half the width of the postallowing no open space between thepost and fabric. Secura Mesh atgate posts can be cut only enoughto allow for industrial gate hinge orlatch installation. A band will beinstalled immediately on top andbottom of any needed cut. Fastenfabric to the intermediate line posts, top rail and bottom rail with thecorresponding size Secura Clamps.Fabric should be 12" higher than theexisting fence height and extended14" above the top rail providing noleverage to assist in climbing overthe barrier. this system if not alreadyin place.
