INTRODUCTIONThis section contains the busbarcomponents in the Logstrup modularsystem.Busbar systems provide an electricalconnection between the main incomingdevice of a switch board and the outgoingunits.The system consists of modularcomponents which allow unlimitedvariations. 3,4, & 5 wire systems can becreated with ease. Systems up to 8500amps can be assembled as standard anda 2, 4 or 6 bars per phase arrangement isused throughout, which eliminates thedrilling or bending of Copper.The Logstrup busbar holder componentsare manufactured from a high gradepolymer which provides a high insulationfor the copper rail, good mechanicalstrength to support a short circuit and theability to withstand variations intemperature.The system has been tested by ASTA,KEMA and IPH laboratories and haspassed short circuit tests, temperaturerise tests etc. according to IEC 60439-1,IEC 61439 series.Internal arc test has also been carried outaccording to IEC/TR 61641.

The LØGSTRUP modular busbar system is rated as listed in the Rating Table on this page.

The rating is based on the DIN Standard 43671 and the conditions as described in the Rating

Table.

RATING TABLE FOR COPPER BUSBARS ACCORDING TO DIN 43671

COPPER SPECIFICATION according to standard EN ISO 10720 / ASTM B272

Rating at 40°C ambient temperature (average temperature over 24 hours : 35°C) and

maximum busbar temperature 120°C.

The ratings are tested values and the tests are performed in a Form 4 type panel with a

degree of protection IP 3X - 4X.

Busbars top or bottom with bars lying on long section of the bar. Named X/Y plane in all

Logstrup documents.

BUSBAR ASSEMBLY (Continued)4. Fix busbar supports to the top

cover plates ensuring that distance between any supports or vertical busbar is not greater than 380mm.

5. Fix the busbar supports to BTR rail6. Fix busbar in position and tighten

to recommended torque (Pg. 39.0)7. Fit vertical busbar support in the

first set of holes in the top sideplate.

8. Fit remaining vertical busbar supports every 380mm to required distance.

9. Fix busbar in position and tighten to recommended torque (Pg. 39.0)

10. Join vertical busbar to horizontal busbar using busbar connectorstype BXC (Pg.16.0) and tighten torecommended torque (Pg. 39.0)
